National calls are almost redundant anyway as most small business numbers are now listed as, or directed to, mobiles and that can be quite expensive.

i am sure Sprint can search up what he needs.
You might have forgotten that all my family and many friends live in Melbourne and there are some friends in Sydney. I used to have to wait until 7 pm to ring them for birthdays and so forth to avoid the exorbitant STD costs but now I can ring anytime for 15 cents. I got into the habit of emailing them and still do, so rarely ring them.

People call me! My use of the phone is to make appointments with doctors or whatever, not to get on the phone for a chin-wag. Ditto my mobile phone. Only trusted friends and family has the number. I don't list my mobile phone anywhere.

I had an email, ostensibly, from the Bank I use this morning, telling me that an online purchase had been "stopped" and my Bank account "on hold" until I clicked on the "click here" (in red). :rofl

Well, I didn't come down in yesterday's shower and I don't have any pending online purchases, so I deleted the email and signed into my Bank account, as per normal. Phishing scam, undoubtedly and reported it. The stupid thing was that the scan email had actually copied what the Bank states "we do NOT send emails to customers with links, etcetera". Just be careful .... this is perhaps a new scan to rip off folk.

:oops Sorry, I went way off topic!

hhmmm, most recent comments are bad.
Maybe the providers are very busy ?

Anyway, have sent away for a 'Belong' Sim for my phone. That is sort of step 1.

thanks for your suggestions and comments all.
Problem is, we were promised a Very Fast Broadband service by Krudd. He didn't think about the cost (normal for Labor) and the distance to "run" fibre or whatever. So, we get what we get and it IS a LOT better than ADSL.

However, you will NOT need an airbag or seat belt to download movies or whatever with the NBN. :rofl I could do that with ADSL. OK so the old ADSL might have dropped out mid downloading something or other (game?) and the NBN is faster but, believe me, your emails don't arrive faster, nor does your post in a Forum appear faster but as far as I have experienced, my NBN is stable. The same IP for weeks, thus you need to use a Proxy to avoid the stalkers.

Sprint.

Don't panic. Analyse what you need. Do the sums. Don't listen to NBN Sales persons. ;)

I don't think most of us are looking for faster emails or faster forum postings, Nef

Most of us have more than one person in the household who all want to play games, download, stream etc and that is all but impossible on ADSL.

Yes, I KNOW this and that is why I say to Sprint to analyse his needs. I do NOT know his situation.

Obviously, my daughter, her husband and 3 kids, ALL play games online ... they need to pay MUCH MORE than I do. Like I said, you get what you pay for so don't whine if you pay the cheapest and expect 4 people to be playing ONLINE games at the same time ...

My only point is that you don't have to pay MUCH more to get what you need. I only pay $9 more than you and get so much more for it.

There's a lot on offer out there and I was with the same company for almost $20 years but when the NBN came through I changed because I could get a much better deal for our needs elsewhere.

I don't feel any sort of loyalty towards internet providers just because I have used them for years. It's not like they give out discounts.

I know. I am a single and you have 2 kids living there. You get what you pay for. I don't have loyalty with ISPs either, I just couldn't be bothered farting around to get a "better deal".

This is WHY Sprint and anybody else, needs to research their own requirements and choose an ISP that gives them what they want ....

I think that was the whole point  8-)

I like to shop around, others don't. I am sure Sprint will find what best suits him and his household.

I know ... sometimes I just procrastinate .... my whole point was that EVERYBODY has to consider their own situation. What I have suits me.
