I'm assuming Freebie want science to tell him why life and us came to be here.

Unlike other philosophies, science doesn't just make shit up to fill the gaps. "We don't know" is an entirely scientific answer, "we can't know" is often the only philosophically justifiable answer to many questions.

What we do know about why we are here, is that it took a huge convergence of special circumstances to provide such a paradise for us to inhabit, and for intelligence to evolve to question it's place in the universe. But still, being able to ask that question doesn't make the universe any more "made for us" than it does for one of our gut bacteria or even a planet or some piece of space rock.

It looks like a mathematical theory to me - something that is true by definition, and useful as a communication and modelling tool in various fields, but by itself it does not reflect any kind of reality. Rather, you pick and choose those aspects of reality that can be conveniently described or modelled by it.
