I think you are agreeing with everything we said about it earlier in the topic, when it first came out boxy... Scott has lost the plot, a pity because they are all good actors.

I saw the German guy Daniel Bruhl, who plays Niki Lauda in an interview and some parts of the movie when it came out... he looks really good.

Prometheus 2 is scheduled for release sometime in 2015. Don't understand the negative reviews for the first one at all ... yeah, it left questions unanswered and yeah, it raised even more questions but ...

Really.... Scott just trashed the previous movies with a poorly thought out mish mash of a screenplay, there must be lots of blogs explaining what was wrong with it including previous comments on this thread.

Because it was goddamn stupid and made no sense at all? Here's just a short list...

1. Who the fuck gets lost in a place they just mapped while holding the fucking map in their hands?

2. What kind of scientists do the following things:

A) Unseal their protective, atmospherically sealed suits on an alien planet without testing the air at all. Seriously, one of these jackasses is supposedly a biologist and he didn't even bat an eye at removing his helmet and breathing in a lungful of "air" filled with god only knows what microbes.

B) Reaching out and trying to pet a snake-like alien life form with obvious sharp teeth. Again, this was done by a man claiming to be a biologist.

C) When confronted with an obvious infection vector does not immediately quarantine the subject.

D) They call the DNA of the "Engineers" as being an exact match human DNA, despite the fact that the Engineers are over eight feet tall, grey skinned, hairless, have completely black eyes, and there being a several million year gap in contac between either species, if their was in fact any contact to begin with (The movie is real goddamn fuzzy about Peter Weyland's evidence).

3. If this is a prequel to the Aliens franchise, and the first two movies of that, the ones where they discover the Jockies and the Xenomorphs, all happened on or around a planet named LV-426. This movie takes place on LV-223.

The only question it raises is what drugs was Ridley Scott on when he let screen writer Damon Lindelof talk him into all of the wretched script changes that gave birth to this horrid fucking movie. Originally we were supposed to have a straight fucking Aliens prequel, on LV-426, with guns and explosions and all the things that made the first two films of the franchise such a huge success. Instead we ended up with a long, plodding, mind-numbingly stupid film about some elderly businessman who spends a trillion dollars to send the world's worst scientists to a far off world to pester ancient aliens for the secret of eternal life and everyone dies. The end.

Gotta agree with that and wasn't their several writers employed?
Scott lost the plot... literally.

It was a thoughtful, stunning movie with some great twists.
