My understanding of quarantine fees was always that it was to cover
meals and accommodation.
Not so.
The NSW Revenue website tells us that the fees payable for quarantine
are not specifically to cover the costs of the hotel or meals.
The fee goes towards recouping some of the costs incurred to and
reducing the financial burden of covid on NSW taxpayers.
Therefore this is NOT a contract which the traveller enters into with
government which covers specific meals and accommodation.
It is a FEE which is calculated by Treasury.
Therefore there is no offer and accceptance.
There is NO contract.
If the government chooses a fee of $2000 or $3000 or $4000 the traveller
has no opportunity to negotiate this fee.
I accept that the legislation may be in place to enable such a fee to be
charged.
BUT we are being conned...
So what else is new... :rofl

Talking about "money", have any of you checked to see whether you have any "unclaimed money" due to you? You might be surprised. ;)

Just in case anybody is wondering what made me think of this, check the Telegraph.

The only thing I wonder on this is why you posted it. Totally irrelevant to the Topic.
And by the way....I know exactly why you posted it and that has zero to do with money.
