The general attitude towards gays, displayed by the majority of posters, has always been positive as far as I have seen. The majority of people don't care what homosexuals or heterosexuals do in private ... but keep it private the way all sexual activity should be.

What I DO object to is the indoctrination of our kids, of any sexual behaviour, by way of bringing it into the classroom. Teach kids safe sex and leave it at that.

Their minds are growing and will be for many years, their hormones are pro-active and they are naturally confused with life let alone learning about Mum and Mum and Chuck and Bubba.

Let them be kids and develop at their own pace and in the way they will eventually naturally progress. No matter which way that is.

@ Brian
Oh, and I was talking about the general attitude towards Gay people displayed by most of the posters. Did I ignore a point you were trying to make, "Nicole"?
Yes. The general attitude towards gay people displayed by most of the Islamic faith.
The general attitude? A bit hard to tell, really, "Nicole". Many Muslims hate gays. Some tolerate them. Some are Gay themselves. Rather like the Australian population generally, really. The proportions might be different but it is extremely hard to tell whom is a member of which group.

Here, I suspect many actually dislike Gay people, particularly if they draw attention to themselves and their cause(s). They're willing to tolerate them as long as they are silent and never speak out. Rather like tolerance for people who are Muslim. It appears that "out of sight" well makes sure that you're well, "out of mind". Australians are willing to tolerate difference as long as their attention is not drawn to difference. Funny that, hey?

For myself, I don't care about people being different. It brings variety to our cosmopolitan society. It appears to annoy you a lot though, now doesn't it, "Nicole".

Gay male couples adopting children? If they want to be PARENTS, shouldn't they do it the normal way?

A little girl with two DADDIES?

The problem with Muslims is that they do NOT allow females to PRAY with the males.

Also ... what is so sexual about a females HAIR that it excites the Muslim male so much that girls have to wear a "head covering" from the age of 8? EIGHT?

8 is an old hag according to the prophet Muhammad
The self confessed paedophile wrote all about it in his toilet paper book.

But seriously, the full head and face covering was only in place for a specific time during raids on women.
It is not a religious requirement or directive, this has been adopted by misogynistic Imran and retarded followers to isolate and subjugate women.
In several muzzo countries, up until quite recently, NORMAL western attire was worn by women.
Then the retarded radicals and barbarians took over.

The CULT is in a state of cultural flux.
It can either become civilized and wake up to itself
Or
It can continue with it's barbaric, primitive and evil ways.

In the first instance, It will simply be another religion
In the second instance, it will eventually bring the WORLD down on it's head and be destroyed.

Christianity went through this process and came out the other end reasonably well, not perfect, but ok.

I have my doubts about the cult though
Too many nutcases are involved.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

And your problem with that is, what, exactly, Neferti?

I thought you were tolerant of Gay people. Was I mistaken? Tut, tut.

Interestingly, neither do the Jews. Are you condemning them as well, Neferti or reserving your venom only for the Muslims?

And people here claim there is no Islamophobia. Sure. Tut, tut.

Ask the Hindus. They believe married women should bind their hair, as well. Not all Muslims are worried about the display of hair. The covering of hair goes back to the period of the "Dark Ages" and before, in Europe, the Middle-East and South-West and Southern Asia. It didn't excite people, it told them about the availability of the woman displaying their hair. Rather like the Pacific Islanders wearing flowers in their hair, actually.

Nope, no Islamophobia here, none at all, hey? Tut, tut, just a case of broad ignorance it seems. Very broad ignorance.

I suspect the proportions would be very different, Brian.

If you did a latitudinal study of 10,000 people in Saudi Arabia, and 10,000 people in Australia, asking them questions about gays, including should they be stoned to death, I suspect that word of yours - "proportions" - would look very different indeed.

Ah, the ol' "changin' the goal posts" trick, hey, "Nicole"?

Tut, tut, don't you worry about that. Considering that Homophobia tends to be associated with ignorance and poor education, what is your excuse? Muslims in Saudi Arabia generally tend to be fairly poorly educated for the most part. Muslims in Australia tend to be better educated. They also learn social acceptance. Yes, the proportions would be different but there are reasons, other than just their religious views. Perhaps you'd care to explain why homosexuality was outlawed in Australia over a century ago or are you going to blame Muslims for that, as well? Mmmm?

Remember, you live in South Australia - the first Australian state to legalise homosexuality. I wonder why Don Dunstan suddenly decided to do that?
