I've occasionally wondered what Tim Flannery is a Prfessor of?. Because he's certainly no meteorologist nor an expert on anything involving global warming.
Just did a google wiki. He's a mammalogist and palaeontologist.
Ok palaeontology like geology does give some scope for un an understanding on global warming events in the past, but his credentials IMO are not validation for being appointed Chief Commissioner of the Climate Commission. Personally I think he is incompetent and was appointed by incompetents for the same reason the same incompetents in govt appointed another incompetent as head of the Human Rights Commission - because he speaks the narative the ALP wanted spruiked.

When I was in the Greens (and a branch delegate to Qld Greens State Council and State Conference - mid 2003 to early 2008) Tim Flannery proposed terraforming the planet with photochemical smog to block sun light as a global warming preventitive.
In Greens members online forum I asked the question "Is Tim Flannery an idiot?".
Quite a few QG members weren't impressed - too bad, so sad.

Since then I've noticed all he seems to do regarding GW/CC is copy/plagiarise others' (including my own) prognstications and material.

Consensus Centre?

Personally I think it's good to question and look for alternative answers. If we didn't, the world god created in 7 days would still be flat. But to title an institue Consensus Centre implies "We're correct because our opinion is the most popular" and/or "We'll tell you what to believe because we decide who gets the money".

I reckon they should call it the 'Doubting Thomas Institute' and their moto could be Tony Abbotts memorable phrase "It's bullshit".
