I'd like to get back on topic.
Aussie obviously wouldn't.

mantra...
Aussie defined lawyer a page or so ago,
I think you will find that completely incorrect.

Another reason NOT to vote LABOR.

Aussie supports them.
DOLT - A person who is stupid and entirely tedious at the same time, like bwian. Oblivious to their own mental incapacity. On IGNORE - Warrior, mellie, Nom De Plume, FLEKTARD

Naffy.....this is the current Victorian Act which includes all prior amendments. Note that it retains the distinct separate expressions...............solicitor and barrister.

Mantra this:
Once a solicitor is qualified - he can't automatically become a barrister.

.....is also incorrect.

From the moment I achieved the Bachelor of Law degree, I could go either way by mere personal choice.

Mantra is quoting NSW. She is correct.

I was pointing you to Victoria. I am correct.

You live in QLD so you are correct, too. Just do your research BEFORE telling people that they know "crap".

The general difference between Solicitor and Barrister is similar to GP and Specialist
Don't try and conflate or draw analogies between an arts degree and a real one. They are nothing alike.

The general difference is similar to a CPA and and ITP tax agent

I know you are talking crap because current Victorian legistation provides for the distinction between Solicitor and Barrister.

I have not checked on NSW, but I'll bet pounds to peanuts they too retain the distinction.

Please REFER to the legislation when GILLARD was a Solicitor. That goes back to 1995. They changed it in 1996, then again in 2004 and 2008.

I am not about to be your lackey, Aussie .. that is precisely your problem ... do you think you are above LEARNING for yourself.

And the Act still maintains the distinction. Gillard was, and is a Solicitor. All she needs to do to go back to active practice (as in my case) is fill out a form, sign a cheque and bob's her uncle.

Simple shit.

:rofl :rofl You mean that she is able to be a complete fuckwit and still call herself a Solicitor?

I doubt that Gillard would be bothered going cap in hand to the Victorian Institute of Law and sucking up to RENEW her Solicitor's Practising Certificate.

She will, forever, be known as the First Female Prime Minister who was a CROOK on the side.
