Interesting Nerf... perhaps she's opposed to marriage because all the blokes she slept with from the AWU and ALP to get to the top wouldn’t leave their lovely wives for her, so she's resentful of the marital institution itself, blames marriage for her being barren and alone...and feeling as though she had to fake being partnered to a bucked-tooth man-bag Tim to be considered tenable.

Sad really.

It looks like the piss-weak Mickey Mouse ACT Assembly are going to waste our local taxpayer dollars on fighting this in the High Court.

We have been through this previously (back when Howard was PM). This bunch of wankers sit around discussing legislation for such things as same-sex marriage, shooting up rooms, making drugs legal and other controversial stuff that would ONLY apply in Canberra and expect the rest of Australia to take notice of them. Fools, the entire 17 Members.

They should make sure our garbage collectors arrive on the day they are supposed to, that they get someone to fill the pot holes, that globes in street lights are replaced, and that the mow the government grassy areas regularly. Other than that they have the same respect that a Local Council has. Nilch.

S51 of the Constitution covers Marriage as it is a Federal Government responsibility. To change this would need, at least, a Referendum and I very much doubt that any Federal Government, left or right will be doing this in the near future as it is a absolute waste of funds.

The adults are now in charge Neferti, and it is those grown up who will be taking this to the High Court, not the ACT Government. Only Mr Abbott can stop the poofs, don't you know Neferti!

It's about time the territories were put it there place.

No one wants to see the likes of Phil and his boyfriend Karnal with a govt sanctioned certificate saying they are officially allowed to stain their bed sheets with shit.

The ACT has been declared the “rainbow territory’’ after the Legislative Assembly passed a bill to establish Australia’s first same-sex marriage scheme.

To thunderous applause from the public gallery, the single-chamber Parliament voted to approve a marriage equality law by eight votes to seven on Tuesday.

Under the law, same-sex couples from across Australia will be able to marry in Australia by the end of the year.
Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr, who is gay, said the law would help transform many lives and Canberra into a “rainbow territory’’ or “city of love’’.

"It marks an important step in our journey to become the most LGBTI [lesbian, gay, transgender and intersex friendly] city in Australia,’’ Mr Barr said.

Watch out for this Andrew Barr bloke, Phil! I gather that he is looking at getting married!
