Psssst Boxy, that new avatar of yours makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Who is it?

As an ex-smoker I find nearly ALL the anti-smoking ads not only "uncomfortable" but
actually counter=productive. Especially the latest one, where they use that great song
of Leonard Cohen "Everybody knows" to show what nicotine does to your
arteries....arrrggg....if I was still a smoker, I would change chanels and get another
cigarette, as it is, I only change chanels.

The real song goes:

Heheh, fancy you should mention him. I just recently I visited his grave at Montparnasse and questioned my friends why there are cabbagages on it and was told that this was a hommage to the cauliflower ears he apparently had in life. My french friends put some truly astonishing things on the graves of their departed.

Well, Cauliflower or cabbage ears, what a sexy couple they made, Jane Birkin and him...I bet they gave a few 'UNCOMFORTABGLE moments to some straight-laced folk: ;)

boxy -
Saving Private Ryan, where the "green" ammo runner freezes on the stairs, when he could easily have helped his comrade who was hand to hand with an enemy, and subsequently died while he sat sobbing only metres away is another moment for me. But it's as much for the psychological biffo, of that guy having to live the rest of his life knowing that he failed when it came to the physical application of what he had long studied intellectually.
yes, that was really yuck. also in that movie when the tanks were coming inot the town.
the noise of those tanks made me want to leave the cinema. it was just going to be bad.

The avatar is Brad Pitt... if you've been taking notice of my recent avatars, you'll probably be able to work out which movie it's from ;)

Have wanted to appreciate Serge G. Can you provide an entree into his talent Machi? Or is he strictly for Francophiles?

If I remember correctly the German soldier who killed his comrade was released by them earlier in the movie in an act of mercy.

Mercy can be a dangerous thing in war.
