Britain says it has approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for use and that it will be rolled out from next week.

It means the UK is the first country in the world to approve the coronavirus vaccine for widespread use.

“The Government has today accepted the recommendation from the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for use,” the government said.

At least 70% need to be vaccinated in order for it to be effective. Government and vaccine manufacturers cannot be held accountable if it all goes pear shaped.

That in itself should make one step back and really think about it.

What percentage already have the antibodies for covid? More curious about America than Australia. You guys have been shut down so long that almost nobody has any type of immunity. My antibody test results will be available in 2 weeks.

we haven't been locked down, businesses have. After the first few weeks we resumed living life and going somewhere almost every day. As soon as indoor dining resumed we were some of the best customers. Unfortunately the ones who reopened have a reduced menu or economize in some other way. Some places we enjoyed before all this have reduced quality and lost our business, at least for a while. Hundreds of thousands of small businesses have closed permanently and other will not survive another lockdown. Living in isolation isn't healthy and people I know hiding from covid are suffering from shutting themselves away!

I have to say my life really hasnt changed all that much since this started...even when told to remain at home people are still allowed out at some stage....its only when you are in the 14days iso....that you could become cell crazy... but I dont believe it to be honest...

who knows maybe being unable to see ones relatives makes them appreciate each other more...

I have a generic vaccine question. Do vaccines typically give you protection beyond what the natural antibodies produced after having recovered from the disease provide? In other words, if my antibodies will protect me for 6 months (as an example), will most vaccines protect you any longer.

I'm trying to decide if I will take the vaccine when it becomes available to me. I won't accept it on the first wave if offered to me as an essential employee. I'm eagerly waiting on my antibody test results. It has been 4 months since I recovered during my family's quarantine.
