going to Church must be the new Nightmare over there..
I'm glad they do. The outcome of this scenario would have been a lot worse.

My Kimber was on my hip in church at that very moment. Nobody displays their gun or even mentions it.

I just got in from work and several details have been made public today.

The first victim who was slow to draw his pistol was a member of the security team. He failed to stop the murderer but is a hero. He put himself in harms way and his efforts saved lives.

This is a story about the man I described as the "usher". I am hearing that he was part of the security team. He was a deacon in the church and a nurse by trade. By all accounts he was a good man and a good provider for his family.

https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/daugh ... t/2283486/

This is a story about the "older man" in the back who shot and killed the murderer. He is a former police officer and former FBI agent. He is the volunteer head of security for his church. He owns a gun range and conducts classes for those getting a License To Carry and he also trains church security teams. In spite of the fumbled draw by the first victim, the team performed very well and saved many lives. He shot the murderer in the head and stopped him instantly from 40 feet (12 meters) under pressure. I don't know if he planned a head shot, but it was the best possible shot under the circumstances.

This story identifies the murderer. He has a long history of violence and felony arrests. He is banned from owning firearms and would fail any background check. He was homeless and living on the street. I suspect he stole the gun he had and there are reports that he sawed off the barrel to make the shotgun more concealable. This is a very serious federal crime also.

Single shot to the Head under fire at 12 Meters...

Just Brilliant!!

I can’t tell you how hard that shot would be to a normal civilian ...

If you were trained in weapons .. you’d be taught to aim for the largest body mass.. Chest area.. BOOM! 💥

From that last article:
"Keith is a violent, paranoid person with a long line of assault and batteries with and without firearms. He is a religious fanatic, says he's battling a demon. He is not nice to anyone."
If he had a "long line" of incidents, why the hell wasn't he locked up? What is this, Australia?

The article also states that the FBI are trying to establish a motive. It seems odd to me that he's been branded as a "religious" fanatic and tried to shoot up a church.. either he is part of a contrary denomination, or he has schizophrenia (or is at least in the "spectrum") and believed that a demon possessed him and told him to try and shoot up the church.

In any case, I'm glad he got shot. If this had happened in Australia, the person who shot him would be considered the scum of the earth by the courts...

I wouldn't be trying a head shot. Maybe he suspected body armor. I wouldn't stop at one shot either. He noodled him, so I guess it worked out.

FLASHBACK: Biden Called Texas Governor 'Irrational' for Allowing Guns in Places of Worship

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden criticized the Governor of Texas for signing a bill that allows law-abiding Texans to defend themselves with firearms in places of worship. On Sunday, an armed man stopped a gunman in Texas after the gunman opened fire during church services.

Joe Biden recently told reporters that it was "irrational" to allow law-abiding worshipers to defend themselves in church.
"With all due respect to the governor of Texas," Biden began, "it is irrational what they're doing. On the very day you see a mass shooting ... and we're talking about loosening access to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship ... I mean it's just absolutely irrational. It's totally irrational."

For some reason, Democrats can never understand that people prepared to violate our laws against murder won't be stopped by the sight of a gun-free zone sign. In fact, mass shooters will likely be looking for gun-free zones knowing that law-abiding citizens will be defenseless. The man who took out this killer before he could kill anybody else is a hero, and Governor Greg Abbott is a hero for not infringing upon the man's constitutional right to defend himself.
