A family of attention seeking idiots.

Falcon's disappearance from his home in Colorado generated huge media interest in the US and across the world.

The unfolding drama was broadcast live on television with millions glued to the news as the balloon floated for 50 miles before it came to rest in a field, where several paramedics and rescue teams pounced on the craft.

Falcon was found not to be inside the balloon and, two hours later, he was discovered safe and well hiding the garage of his home.

During a subsequent CNN interview with the family, Falcon was asked by his father Richard why he did not come out of the attic despite his parents repeatedly calling his name.

Falcon appears to answer: "You guys said that ... we did this for the show".

CNN interviewer Wolf Blitzer later asked Richard Heene what his son had meant.

After a long delay, Mr Heene replied: "I can see the direction you guys are hedging on this," he said.

"I'm kind of appalled after all the feelings that I went through... that you guys are trying to suggest something else."

The father especially seems like a psycho.

Indeed. It was a laugh, coming in an hearing the whole story from start to finish because I'd missed a whole days worth of the media being given the run around. Chasing a flying saucer shaped balloon in choppers? Didn't that make them think, WTF?

Anyway, here comes de law

"In light of the interview that was done last night and in light of the boy's statement, we want to re-interview them and to try to clarify that and put that to rest," Sheriff Alderden said.

If family members did make up the story, he said, they could be charged with filing a false report -- a misdemeanor -- and perhaps ordered to pay for the search

Two men arrested over a burglary attempt in the US were found with fake beards and masks scrawled on their faces with a permanent marker.

Dutch courts at least have some sense!

A Dutch court forbade a 14yo girl from setting of on a the-youngest-ever-solo-around-the-world yacht trip. It pllaced her in care for some months!

I absolutely abhor, detest, despise (with such a passion that I would even consider using my own appendage to please a watermelon to stop it) that "youngest to"...do whatever. Great work by the Dutch. Absolute criminal neglect in the case of Jessica. Sure, she is alive and well now, but where will the blame game end if she perishes?
