Apparently American international aid cannot be given to an army that has carried out a military coup and America''s international aid is worth $1.3 billion annually to Egypt. That's gonna hurt.

The US and the UK have a lot to be accountable for in this region.

Saudi is everything the US is not so why are they supported. Simple, Oil plus a stable state run by a dictator that represses everyone, particularly women can be tolerated if the oil supply is secured. It's call "looking after American's Interest". I look forward to the day when the US is self sufficient for their energy needs. That will be soon.

If you have a military coup you enter the world of war. the first causality is truth.

I expect we will see a civil war if they are not careful. The only thing holding that back is the power the military have over the countries infrastructure and revenue and resources.

also they are very powerful politically.

What has happened in Egypt?

Events reached a pivotal point at dawn this morning when shots were fired outside the Republican Guard headquarters in Cairo, killing 42 and injuring hundreds. There are two opposing versions of the incident. The military claims there was an attempt to storm the compound - where President Mohammed Morsi had been held after he was deposed - by "armed terrorists" at dawn, forcing the guards to return fire to repel the attack. The Muslim Brotherhood, backed by the accounts of dozens of injured survivors, said a detachment of soldiers advanced from behind on hundreds of people performing dawn prayers outside the compound.

It looked to me like the army was just shooting people with no real justification. Check out the snipers just picking people off from the roofs.

Being fired upon and responding by indiscriminately killing 50 people and injury 200 is not a balanced response. unless those 50 were carry weapons... no evidence of that yet.

But you can't expect soldiers to take on fire when in the open and not return fire. They aren't bullet proof you know.
I'm also not sure how indiscriminate it was either there was at least 20 or 30 people grouped together where i saw gunfire coming from.
