No, better to walk out on top and be remembered as the man who presided over the meteoric rise of the Green movement, and leave Milne to take the fall for the inevitable eviscerating of the Greens that will come.
People have been writing off the GREENS for years, and we keep on growing while proving you all wrong, this is no different.

He understood then that it was time to leave. He can foresee the iron fisted reign of Abbott to come. Bob has watched Greg Withers' soul being torn out as he is strapped down and forced to watch, Clockwork Orange style, as his life's work is slashed a burned. In this he has forseen his own future if he stays in the game.

Cynical, but a good observation and probably true. I'm surprised Bob Brown has stayed for this long in politics, but I doubt he envisaged that climate change would become such a curse and Newman would slash and burn all the green programs so quickly - especially the Geothermal centre of excellence.

Politics in Australia for the next decade will be ruled by the right and any practical changes made to our view and use of energy will be wiped out. We'll be back to where we were a century ago.

No doubt this will give O'Farrell the confidence to do the same in NSW.

All those disappointed in Labor and who have predominantly blamed the Greens for every little thing will see a very callous Austraia emerge with no regard to the preservation and sustainability of the little bits of untouched wilderness which remain. I hope the Greens survive for the long term - but we'll have to see how much angst the coalition bring when they're in power. The Greens may well be their only opposition eventually.

Better get your queen size box of tissues ready skip

The left will be wiped out come next election and you can thank your fag queen for the majority of the drubbing

The greens have peaked everywhere and you only have to look at QLD where not only was there a massive swing against labor, the greens went backwards as well. Completely unable to capitalize on the stench emanating from labor because to the majority of the population have woken up to the fact that all left wing politicians are incompetent fucking leeches who wouldn't understand economics or what the ordinary Australian wants or needs.

Only Green fuckwits like yourself who are equally fucking clueless will continue voting for these dickheads because you are an unAustralian economic retard and a major fucking c unt who thinks more of ideology and fucking trees than human beings.

And yes Mantra, you will be ruled by the right and with a massive majority, all your expensive feel good green scams will be thrown on the scrap heap and you should be fucking thankful.

Assume your rightful position as the clueless dregs of society and get out of the fucking way of prosperity and economic growth

What about economic sustainability - rather than economic 'growth' in Australia which relies predominantly on mining. Our mineral resources aren't infinite. Is it possible for any government to be forward thinking - not just for 5 years - but 50 years?

Labor - nor the Coalition have encouraged manufacturing or sustainable industry here over the last four decades and prefer to take the easy option by relying on the mining boom.

I hate the Labor government too and in hindsight the worst thing the Greens could have done for themselves was join forces with them. They've compromised their values to ensure a few of their minor policies get through.

As far as being one of the clueless dregs of society - you think extreme capitalism is the way to go where people get up to their eyeballs in debt just to buy the latest toy from China? We send all our raw material overseas and then pay 5000% more to get it back as a widget.

Labor and the Coalition have failed to keep our foreign trade deficit under control and regardless of who is in government at the moment - this is spiralling out of control. Our federal debt is peanuts in comparison. We will come undone soon and the Coalition won't be able to do a thing about it. They haven't even got alternative policies in place. Abbott keeps rabbiting on about maternity leave - that's the least of our problems.

Bob Brown lost his way, said one thing back in 2010, and did another.

The party was divided, Green policies aside.

Bob had become overly egotistical (well, more so than usual) wacky and self interested, this and somewhat extreme, clumsy and hypocritical.

Remember this?

http://bob-brown.greensmps.org.au/conte ... aid-greens

The man was a coward and was forced to stand down by his own for the sake of what's left of this has-been little party that's discredited itself across a number of areas in recent years.

Bob is no Green, he's a RED!

Was he always a watermelon, (had a red centre) or did power and greed get the better of him?

Well, thats up for the public to decide I guess, when it's clear, his own party already has.

:hlo

Ps- I told you all they would snuff Bob Brown before the next election, no guessing why.

8-)

And.....as for him being in poor health, well, he has always looked like death warmed up, ie, the grim reaper, and if he was in fact dying of AIDS as Mr Bart implied, then he's been dying of AIDS for a very, very long time....lol.

:thumb Unlikely.
