The Green Lantern rebooted as gay

I don't know about you guys but I was big into comics when I was a kid and my favourite super hero was Green Lantern and still is. I have some originals in storage. The power of will was the superior super power because I could see myself as been worthy of been selected for the Green Lantern Corp. Funny what appeals to a young boy and these comic targeted this appeal. Every young boy could see themselves as one of the Super Heros.

See the following article.

I have no issues with homesexuals but leave my Super Hero alone.

So my question is................ WTF is going on?
Are we promoting gayness and trying to make it cool now?
WTF?
The Green Lantern, one of DC Comics' most popular and instantly recognisable superheroes, will be revealed as homosexual in a forthcoming issue, it has been announced.

The twist, which comes more than 70 years after the character was first introduced, means that the Green lantern's superhero son, Obsidian, who was also gay, will never be born and will thus no longer exist as a character in the comic books.

It also presumably means that his two marriages will be written out of history.

The storyline was written by British writer James Robinson, who said: "He's very much the character he was. He's still the pinnacle of bravery and idealism. He's also gay."

Mr Robinson said that the 'rebooting' of the Green Lantern meant that he would be young and so Obsidian was yet to be born, this made the decision to recast the Lantern as gay easier.

The writer added: "The only downside of his being young was we lose his son, Obsidian, who's gay. So I thought, 'Why not make Alan Scott gay?'. That was the seed that started it."

Mr Robinson added that he hoped the character's coming out would serve as an inspiration to others.

He told the New York Post: "He's a type-A personality who doesn't hide in the shadows. I hope he's a positive figure. If there's some kind of kid out there who's reading the comic and who's worried about the person he is, maybe it will give him a positive sense of who he is. Or maybe a different kid will read it and decide I don't need to bully some kind of kid in school."

Last month Marvel Comics, DC's main rival, announced that one of their heroes in the X-Men series, Northstar, was getting married to his long-term boyfriend.

Read recently where a super hero was to be outed and Bat Man might be the one. Guess not.

Is that a massive bulge in his crotch or a shadow?

Does this mean you are gay SN?

Not that I ever took any notice of who or what these cartoon male superheroes were, but making them gay is ridiculous. A huge audience of macho little boys will be lost. This is going too far.

Fags fucking it up for all kids

Not one kid even thinks about sexuality when reading these comics so why make it an issue?

That said, let's make wonder woman a lesbo and have her tie up her girlfriend with her golden lasso

Yes. What messages are they trying to deliver. It will be no longer a safe place to escape to as a young boy. Are be trying to say to little boys your hero is gay so try it out. FFS.

I never thought about a super hero sexuality. Well not true, I thought Vampirella was hot.

So the Gardian of the Universe select the bravest, without fear and best specimen of a race to represent their quadrant of the universe so they sellect a gay guy. So now the highest values that GL represents is what.... I'm green and I'm gay. I now root (in the way the americans use it) for Sinestro. Now I am begin to wonder why GL hate the colour Yellow.....................

Well, if you mean, that when I was young I wished to be a Green Lantern with a massive green bulge that ended up gay as my role model for life then...... I guess I have to take my ring out of the closet.

I disagree about the sexuality of superheroes being ignored. You just did not notice it because it seemed normal. Most male superheroes had a female love interest who was always just out of reach. Except for batman, who had robin. This GL thing probably makes the cartoon balance match real life.

I never even heard of Green Lantern till I saw it on big bang theory and then the movie came out.

Agree. So now we portray gay as normal now. Where it is a minority attribute at best.

The world has lost the plot.

Fuck political correctness. Leave the young alone.

FD has a point about the superheroes never ending up with a woman - from those I noticed anyway, but perhaps this was because the writers were probably gay. Until 30 years ago homosexuality was illegal - so many of these writers had to stay in the closet. Still if the heroes were portrayed as neuter gender they should stay that way.

Batman had Vicky Vale

Fuck the gays. They want our marriage and now they want our superheros...and fuck all you progressive leftwing enablers for letting them think this is ok to normalize aberrant behavior
