Julian Assange to be extradited, says UK court

Julian Assange is a dickhead. But this decision stinks.

There is no way a man will get a fair trial in a secret court in Sweden. This is a politically motivated setup which takes advantage of two jealous women's desire for revenge.

The facts are so obvious that there couldn't possibly even be a debate here. Sorry for wasting your time, Animals.

Were they jealous or was Assange being followed? The women could have been approached by some government agent to help silence him once and for all. We don't know what pressure was put on them.

He should have had the sense to lay low after his publications and not trust anyone he didn't know well.

Of course he won't get a fair trial - but that's what happens when you embarrass governments.

He is generally admired though by the plebs.

If Assange goes free, one day he will be taking a hike and a boulder will roll on top of him, or he will be found at the bottom of a cliff dead, an "accident" the police will say. Or a mysterious car crash or heart attack ...

Well, they passed his verdict about 10 hours ago, (so I believe) and word has it that if they don't repeal it within 14 days, almighty hell will break loose.

Gillard has much to answer for, re- her early condemnation of this Australian citizen.

The Greens are the only political party calling for him to be brought home. They're worried he'll be eventually sent to the US and charged with espionage.

They want her to prove to us once and for all that she has the guts to protect an Australian citizen. Whether she succumbs we've yet to see, but if she doesn't it will be another black mark against her.

So the Greens and other softheads want Gillard to send the SAS to whisk Assange back to Australia? What if the Indos sent commandoes to whisk one of their citizens in trouble with the law here? You softheaded handwringers would be furious!

Assange is getting all the consular help any Australian in trouble overseas gets. That is what he is entitled to as an Australian citizen and he is entitled to no more than that.

There is a darker side to all this: Julian has been responsible for at least one death. Previous cables etc had been carefully redacted to remove names. Some of the latest stuff posted has not.

Julian should be being tried for murder.

Assanges supporters have declared technological war on all and sundry (Gillard inclusive) should they not repeal the verdict. See, they see her as being part of the bigger reason for why he's in this predicament to begin with, and why this is so, is subject to individual interpretation I guess.
It's not a left or a right thing.
So stop trying to make it one Monk.
