What "solution" are you referring to? As blind freddy can see, crushing a national economy by deliberately depriving the population of jobs and basic social infrastructure such as proper health and education and sapping governments ability to pay what it owes is a solution to nothing.

Unless your thinking is so distorted that you regard austerity as being basically a cure - for not being a massive, dysfunctional mess, plauged by mass (and ever growing) unemployment, mass (and ever growing) poverty, violence and civil strife.

When a debtor can't pay you back, you will never get your money back by destroying them. Unless you sieze their home and sell it from under them - which is what the troika is demanding Greece do. Foreign vultures are in the running to be the proud owners of ancient Greek monuments such as the Akropolis, Greek islands, Greek infrastructure such as ports, water supply, schools, hospitals, rights to any natural resources underneath Greek soil and seabed. And all under an unelected prime minister.

It's heady days for the ideology of extreme market liberalism - in the spot on Earth that invented democracy, we will soon find out if the market can devour entire nation states and spit the millions of inhabitants out like used chewing gum.

Why do you keep shouting this? Arn't all Greek Prime Ministers appointed by the President, as the leader of the party who can get a majority in their parliment, rather than elected directly? Pretty much the same a Julia is here?

Ah, so he wasn't a member of parliament at all, when the ruling parties accepted him as Prime Minister.

Can an Australian government appoint an unelected leader to our Prime Ministership?
