Whichever way you want to look at this, it is hurting Australia, Australians, and the international customers of Qantas. I am not a fan of this overpaid Irish Assassin. It is terrible. He gets a huge rise in his salary, yet does all he can to ensure other Qantas employees get zero. Worse, he shuts them out of the Qantas gates.

At the end of the day people want cheap flights which is why QANTAS are in this predicament. Perhaps Dick Smith is right and QANTAS should just be a domestic carrier and that's all. Anyone see Tony Sheldon have a sook on the ABC last night? He got what was long coming to him.

You may be right. Dick Smith is pragmative and says use it or lose it. But why must we use it if it is too expensive?

It's all over the news in the UK. Bloody brand damaging for Qantas and Austraia. More so Qantas.

I never fly Qantas anymore. They are crap, poor service, crap food and not focused on customer service. I have not flown them for 8 years but other confirm this who have flown recently.

Also with all the technical issues of the last year, they are not considered as safe and that advantage is going as well.

Do what Bob Harke did, sack the lot of them and recruit a new set.

Qantas' reputation will be irreparably damaged because of this. It will never be the respected airline it once was. I don't think Joyce cares nor do the shareholders, otherwise he wouldn't have received such a massive pay increase. He's obviously promised huge profits and it will only be achieved from cheap overseas labour.

It would be nice to see some protectionism in Australia - but we are now part of a global economy and loyalty to your nation means nothing to big business.

Stricks over. Reported over here with questions like, why didn't the UK government intervene when BA staff went on strike. The Poms envy Australia's direct approach when strikers threaten the national interest and ordinary people going about their everyday business, like wanting to get home ...etc.

Well done Aus.

Yes - the strike's over and the blame is falling on Gillard. It's a bit of a cop out as Joyce obviously knew he'd made a mistake, but managed to turn it around and blame the government. He's killed two birds with one stone.

Joyce made no mistake. The scum sucking unions were out to rape Qantas and Joyce shoved their tactics fair and square up their arse

...and yep, Gillard has been left looking incompetent again. Fancy coming out and say that she wasn't prepared to use a law the stupid bitch drafted herself. What a fucking loser

Gillard was dragged kicking and screaming to bring this to FWA. The unions were going to slow roast Qantas for the next 1-2 years and the govt and their union mates were doing fuck all about it. Joyce did the only thing he could to get Dullard to address the festering boil that is the unions

The unions have a lot to answer for, my sons school strikes again tomorrow, second time in the last month.

It's getting out of hand, Labors unions are in fact the destroyers.

It's not just Qantas they're targeting.

"Let me reiterate, the first I heard about it was at about a quarter to five on Saturday afternoon," he told Parliament.

"If the Prime Minister and the Minister for Transport have any doubt, I refer them to a transcript of (Melbourne broadcaster) Steve Price where he said he was beside me when I first heard about it.

"If I had prior notice of what Qantas was intending I would hardly have booked myself and my family on Qantas the following day.
...and there's good old Albasleaze trying to insinuate that Abbott was colluding with Qantas to ground the fleet.

Transparent shitful liebor tactics are transparent
