Gillard and Brown form a new panel-Trying to screw us again

Australian Constitution page brings information in relation to a 1998 a referendum held to recognize local government, i.e. councils as a third tier of government. The Australian people emphatically voted no to this referendum.

Below are two links. The first link will take you to a letter signed by the Attorney-General, Robert McClelland dated 8 July 2010 advising ”Constitution does not recognize local government.”. The second link which is far more urgent will take you to information on a new panel set up by Gillard and Brown. This panel is appointed on constitutional recognition of local government, i.e. our Councils and is dated 8 August 2011 SC097/2011.

Please read the panel document and the other commentary that has been posted so that when it finally does come to a referendum at the next election you will know what you are voting for and what you are giving away.
This is just another attack on our Australian Constitution!
