Fuck the farmers and the MLA. They want live export to deprive Aussie workers of jobs, they have known about the substandard conditions in all Indo abattoirs and all they have done is PR work to make it look like live export is the right thing.
The sheep that get shipped to the ME are carried in appalling conditions, standing in their own filth, breathing high ammonia concentrations from their shit that is left to accumulate, no fresh air or light, at the mercy of the ship rolling, disgusting!
boxy being an ambassador for this revolting trade—does he have a financial interest in it?

Those crunts who were shamelessly abusing cattle in front of people who would obviously take offense are probably pretty pleased with themselves right now. Their abuse has seen the big, humane, Australian operators hurt much more than the little back yard opperations. They can just continue on now, without MLA badgering them to step up to our level.
Bravo.

Apparently Indo wants to be self sufficient in beef, so less live cattle and less chilled beef will be sent than before. MLA better be already looking for new markets.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011 ... 265184.htmIndonesia ready to accept 180,000 cattle
Indonesia has released import permits allowing 180,000 head of cattle to come from Australia after a ban on live trade was lifted this week.
A visit by Foreign Affairs Minister Kevin Rudd has given Indonesia a chance to ask that in the future, it be given much more warning before any bans are put in place.
The suspension in live trade was imposed last month after graphic footage of animals being mistreated in Indonesian abattoirs was aired on ABC's Four Corners program.
It was lifted on Wednesday after Federal Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig said new animal welfare measures were in place to ensure animals are slaughtered humanely.
Australian cattle exporters will now be able to resume the trade by applying for an export permit after proving livestock can be traced through the supply chain to an Indonesian abattoir that meets international guidelines.

I think the actions of our government have been appropriate in this instance, both the ban and the resumption with tighter conditions.
