I was going to give Aussie his two week grace period, because it seems reasonable, before providing feedback and deciding my interest in Polanimal. However, things have happened that has quickened my decisions, and now… I just want to leave. So here is feedback on the two reasons why I am leaving… but no general feedback because I am leaving so lack any commitment.
On the matter of Annie: I do not support her being a mod on FD Polanimal. It should have been enough that I mentioned that she came with baggage. Aussie knew what I meant by that claim and that it was no minor baggage to which I was referring. It was about breaching privacy.
I had registered as Monkey Magic at Monks site. I presented as a very calm and understated persona who wanted Aussie gone from PA because he was destroying it. Annie, it was told by Monk, was analyzing my writing style and my IP trace to determine absolutely in her mind, and had convince Monk of the same mind, that I was IQ. I pointed out that this was wrong. I was told that I was lying. I was told that I do not claim the wrong loud enough or passionately enough. I advised that my identity would be revealed soon enough which was not then and there as Monk had demanded. So Monk, convinced that Annie's extensive analysis of my IP address, Internet Provider and my writing style was that of IQ's, published on his forum the details of my Internet Provider and location of my registration with that provider. I had never experienced that before and felt a sense of violation. Neither felt any sense of wrong doing in this unprecedented disclosure… for I have not seen it happen to anyone else on any other forum. Rather I had to debate the issue just to have my details removed from his forum. It took a while… It could even have been the case that I had disclosed that MM was Sappho before they removed my details. And they justified this violation by claiming they thought absolutely that I was IQ and IQ deserves that level of privacy violation.
Well, nobody deserves to have their privacy breached in such a way irrespective of who they are. It's just plan wrong and can put the person being violated at risk because there are stalking freaks out there who feed on that kind of knowledge. It feels creepy knowing that Annie has been looking at my account with forensic zeal and then reporting all she knows to Monk and goodness knows who else. A Moderator is required to be moderate… but there was nothing moderate in that violation of my privacy.
It is not enough that she played a significant role in the subsequent disclosure of my internet details on Monk's forum, she is also supportive of Monks even greater breach of privacy… that of Deepshit's name and address. She can only be viewed as supportive of that event because there was no open protest from her then or now and she continues to support Monk's forum as a moderator. Again, there is nothing moderate about a moderator who supports public breaches of privacy.
So the baggage that Annie brings to this forum is that she cannot be trusted to protect privacy and lacks the required level of moderation needed in a mod.
On the matter of Aussie: Two days ago, my online relationship with FD Polanimal and its members changed profoundly. I became an undercover moderator advising Aussie on who should and should not be banned. The 'request' if you could call it that was presented as an ultimatum. Essentially, Aussie was going to ban Mellie if I did not present reasons as to why he should not. What could I do? I was caught between a rock and a hard place. If I did nothing Mellie would be banned. If I did something then Mellie may not be banned. So I did something and provided 13 reasons as to why Mellie should not be banned… and it worked. Mellie still posts here. Aussie was so impressed with my 'cogent' arguments in her defense, that he asked me to be his ongoing advisor on matters to do with banning members only. But Aussie, I anticipated this so provided universal reasons that could be applied to any 'questionable' member.
This ultimatum should not have made it to my private messages. I have been absolutely clear on my disinterest in moderating a forum. Yet rather than read and take heed of my words written, I am forced into an ultimatum which sees me decide the fate of Mellie's continued presence here.
Cannot the admin and his two mods act moderately in deciding bans? No, I don't think so. They wouldn't have sort my opinion had they felt themselves capable of moderate decisions. Are they afraid of making the big decisions on their own? Yes, I think so. But the reasons for that fear is honorable. I feel that Aussie is worried that the same empty forum will result from his Administration… something that is never his plan, but most often the outcome. Aussie then is not a confident leader. Do they want a fall guy should the back lash from a decision be more than they can bare? If history is anything to go by, and shit hits the fan, then absolutely I would end up being the fall guy… not that that actually worries me if the cause is worth it. Being an undercover mod advising on bans, is not a worthy cause.
So good luck to you all. Good luck with the forum. You need fresh blood with whom you don't share a history… I hope you get that new blood.
Regards
Sappho

Bye, Sappho. Perhaps you need to take a look at life on the basis that it is not all about you, and how valuable you perceive yourself to be.
I sought to involve you in the process.....you mistakenly and for reasons of self interest, regard that as intimidation by way of ultimatum. Once again, even though you happily make PM exchanges with others, you purport mine to be predatory, when they are not.
HTFU, and please, never stand in a strong breeze. Your life force would blow away.
Cheers.

Being a newbie and not knowing much of what has happened btwn people here .. I am able to log on and chat and enjoy this forum very much.
Take care .. and I hope you decide to visit us from time to time if only just to say a quick hello. If you choose not to .. then that is your prerogative I guess.
Kind regards

A few final comments I'd like to make ..
Aussie has an open door policy insofar as constructive feedback over any forum issues is concerned. This was part of his policy platform and it's something I quite admire about Aussie. As a result .. I have a high respect and regard for Aussie because his admin style is INCLUSIVE.
To some extent .. we regular peeps are ALL moderators on this forum Sappho .. particularly insofar as self moderation is concerned as well as the fact that our input is valued, considered and acted upon when we notice things which may be amiss.
