Whilst the price of our exports increase the price of our imports will be relatively cheaper.
Soon our exporters will be closing down.

Just which country is Gillard working for?

This will effect every consumer and it goes beyond your electricity and petrol bill. It includes every good that is produced and manufactured in Australia.

Every courier to your home.
Every icecream that you buy for your kids
Every beer that Arsssssiieee buys
Every litre of milk
etc

All will be paying a higher price to produce and there is no cheaper alternative to production power costs being offered...except if you buy it overseas where there is no carbon price to be paid.

Here's the scenario offered by dullard for goods produced here
Today
Vendor A= Sell price $1.00
Vendor B= Sell price $1.00
Competition means that they will fight for market share thus reducing prices

Under Liebor
Vendor A= Sell price $1.20
Vendor B= Sell price $1.25

Vendor A adopts the Liebor clean energy scheme to manufacture their item
Vendor A= Sell price $1.15
Vendor B= Sell price $1.25

Vendor B goes broke and puts 100's of people out of work or goes overseas and finds a supplier not subjected to liebor stupidity and manages to meet the competitive pricing of $1.15

Net result= Australia loses jobs and pays more

How fucking stupid

And Swan is still testing the waters about raising the GST.
Maybe that news will be released soon after the CO2 tax has been implemented

Undecided Crook urged to oppose carbon tax
http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/australian ... arbon-tax/
Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is urging West Australian Nationals MP Tony Crook to oppose Labor's planned carbon tax.

The WA Nationals considered a motion to support Labor's carbon price at the party's annual state conference at the weekend, but delegates agreed to delay the vote for 12 months.

Mr Crook says he is yet to make up his mind on whether to support the tax, putting him at odds with his federal counterparts who are against it.
Over the weekend Mr Crook's state party decided to seek more information before determining whether to support the tax.

Mr Crook - who describes himself as an independent in the federal sphere - believes humans are causing climate change.

For now he is leaving his options open while his party finalises its position.

"The motion has been left on the table to be considered at a later time because there is so much more to consider on this," Mr Crook said.

"We don't know the context of a carbon tax. We don't know its transition into an ETS. The only thing certain about it is the uncertainty.

Tony Crook knows he will be a foot note in history if he supports Dullard and her new tax grab.

Why not just use the sweat pouring of Oakshitts brow for a hydro scheme to save on CO2?

Of course he didn’t. Caucus won’t have a bar of him, and rightly so.

Now back OT:
Interesting read in the OZ. Windsor says Labor should go straight to an ETS.

And WTF does Labor appease those wastes of space and Labor vote suckers, the Greens? Why oh why did they go into Parlt and there betray what they stand for?

WA Nat rubbishes Abbott climate policy

WA Nationals MLC Philip Gardiner has savaged Tony Abbott's $11 billion "direct action" alternative to the Gillard Government's carbon tax, saying it would neither change polluters' behaviour nor drive innovation in clean energy.

It came as former prime minister Kevin Rudd said last night that members of his Cabinet urged him to ditch emissions trading forever.

Mr Gardiner, who is behind a push for the WA Nationals to support a price on carbon, said Australia's conservatives must embrace market-based strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. "My message to Tony is that this is a matter of urgency and the conservative parties must recognise the combination of the realities of global warming with possible risks to climate change," he said.

"We've got to get a policy package which is going to change behaviour and drive the innovation and technology which is necessary to be world-competitive."

He said the Federal coalition's direct action alternative to pricing carbon, under which billions of taxpayers' dollars would be pumped into planting trees and paying selected polluters to reduce emissions, would amount to a big tax.

"It's picking winners," he said. "How often are governments successful in picking winners? Be honest, Tony, you're actually funding this with a big tax. It may not be explicit but it's implicit: a big tax."

Mr Gardiner's motion to support a price on carbon was deferred at the WA Nationals' weekend State conference until after further analysis of the Government's plan for a carbon tax.

Federal WA Nationals MP Tony Crook said the way his party dealt with mixed opinions on climate change policy was an example for Labor and the coalition, saying the "shouting match" in Federal Parliament had been disgraceful.

Mr Crook said a carbon price would probably be more effective than direct action in reducing emissions but he remained unconvinced that punishing polluters, who contributed to Australia's prosperity, would make any difference to global warming and would only result in jobs being exported.

They seem to be progressive, no wonder they won’t have a bar of the rest of the Nats. Of course, their Royalties for Regions scheme has Premier Barnett raising royalty rates, harming mining, and siphoning money from health, schools etc and making huge rises in the costs of living—power, water, gas, rego etc all going up. In fact, I think the COL has gone up by $1,000 a year over there—and no compensation in sight!

Rising cost of living in WA is solely the fault of the previous labor govt.

They privatised the utilities then held the prices artificially low for 10 years.

Yeah Labor!
