Australian Foreign Minister Rudd blames the United States for cable leaks

Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd has blamed the United States, and not WikiLeaks founder and Australian citizen Julian Assange, for the leaking of thousands of secret diplomatic cables.

In an interview with Reuters yesterday, Rudd declared: “Mr Assange is not responsible for the unauthorised release of 250,000 documents from the US diplomatic communications network. The Americans are responsible for that. I think there are real questions to be asked about the adequacy of their security systems and the level of access that people have had to that material over a long period of time.”

It's likely someone someone from within her own cabinet has leaked her emails,(or has intentionally allowed other access by not securing her network intentionally) and if they leak them to Assange, many will boo and hiss him, and accuse Him of having compromised national security, yes?

Truth being the mortal enemy of a corrupt state.

This or will accuse Assange of having hacked her himself, when in most cases, these leaks come from within their own cabinet....their own ministers who for whatever reason, decide to unleash the truth.




The insecure gmail/hotmail mail servers are a cop-out, a disclaimer, Gillard and Obamas number one enemy is Julian Assagne, because truth will far from set them free, both Obama and Gillard are about to fall.

Then gradually, the government will season it with outrage...whereby Australians will feel violated and threatened by these leaks...and depending on what they are, will become hostile towards whoever makes them public. The China thingy is a false de-coy, and i'll bet even China are in on it...why haven't they commented to being accuse of hacking our governments emails...this sort of shit normally causes wars, or at least full scale inquiries, why hasn't it?


Will there be a federal investigation and independent inquiry into the matter?

One should already in full swing or complete by now, given this 'allegedly' happened in early February, and we are only learning of this now, or did Gillard have to wait for Julian to be released from Prison in order to pass the buck off onto him?

It's an inside job, and if these leaks end up in places other than wikileaks, she cant blame Assange.

Presuming they were leaked at all, may have been an open port for China to sniff our PM's chair, without running the risk of being slapped with espionage.

The way Mark Arbib should have been.

Interesting though how the US were who told Australian authorities they had been hacked.

Why did the US know before us?

Are they privy to our network and system files now even?

The Chinese are known to have hacked plenty of governments' and corporations' computers. Back in 2007 the PLA's cyber attack team hacked the Pentagon. Nobody's declared war or even fired an angry shot over it yet.

Gillard has planted the seed of doubt by intentionally referring to him as a criminal, even though he's not.

And despite their alluding to China, the media are already blaming Assange....

But given mud sticks, and he hosts leaks, if sensitive enough, should he host them,... I doubt he's as stupid as she is... he would be mindful of her antics....could be deliberate baiting also... someone may even have sent them to him, to bait him into hosting them.

To make him appear careless, dangerous and irresponsible.... enough to extradite him to America even? Obama has an albino fetish, and may think Assange is close enough.

Why aren't they launching a full scale federal inquiry?

Why are they remaining tight lipped, re- how America come to learn of our being hacked before our own government did, (assuming we even were)
