And so the rush by some commentators to dance on the grave of the Gillard government is wildly premature. If anything, the strategy behind the carbon tax is the opposite used to propose the RSPT last year.
When Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan announced Treasury's 'elegant' mining tax in May 2010, they were ill-prepared to communicate the tax's economic strengths – the main one being that it actually generated enough revenue to substantially address the Dutch disease hollowing out Australia's non-resources industries.
On the carbon tax, by contrast, Labor is methodically arguing that pricing carbon is not so much about saving the world as reorienting the economy to allow us to do business with the international community in the long term. That is, it's about saving the economy.

The Greens aren't going to like this, or don't they particularly care about why this tax 'they' insisted was in aid of saving the world from the devastating effects of 'climate change' afterall?
So here it is, this is tantamount to saying
"we are only doing it to impress the international community aka United Nations because they get 10% of our carbon-tax revenue if the thing gets passed."-The real Julia Gillard
Gillard no longer cares what the Australian public think of her, it's now about locking this tax-in for the UN, to please their masters, in return for a UN secretary seat should they succeed.
Gillard ends US trip confident of UN seat
Paul Osborne, AAP Senior Political Writer
March 11, 2011
Julia Gillard has ended her first US visit as prime minister quietly confident of Australia's bid for a UN Security Council position and talking up prospects of American investment.

I've seen no information stating that we will be giving 10% of a carbon tax revenue to other nations.

Go you rebel dissident you, feel the generic UN socialist power.
Skippy, the obedient rebel dissident, sucking Jewish UN dick and doesn't even know it.
Another Green-world Jewish socialist group....bankrolled by the UN.
Lennon's offspring duetted at the U.N.'s MDG , pity they weren't as switched on as their father this and declined their offer of starting up his own UN socialist movement shortly before he was murdered... then again, given his predicament, perhaps they didn't want to end up in a pool of blood laying next to a tattered copy of the 1951 novel by J. D. Salinger..The Catcher in the Rye too.
Hey Julia , don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.....

Remember ...the UN will be anything you want them to be, until you sign over 10% temple climate tax.
Anything at all... they are chameleons, will go with the populist vote, political movement, what ever it takes to exploit a receptive host.
They are your Jesus Skippy, ...

ha ha ha
Progressive politics is making a come-back, and they know just what to do, to place their own spin on it.

Can we really put a price on saving the planet?
Well, apparently Gillard can..
Do you know what the UN's 10% cut of 'our' tax is to be used for?
Distributing the wealth apparently, aiding developing countries so they can develop, breed, and emit even more carbon, greenhouse gasses, pollutants, (other than carbon) so we then can in turn, tax them too.

When you add nutrients to a petri dish, bacteria grows, does it not?
Build them a hut, and they will fuck!
