Federal Labor frontbencher Bill Shorten has struggled to explain if a carbon tax will increase the price of a birthday cake.

In a two-minute answer, the Victorian MP often touted as a future prime minister conceded a carbon price could not be implemented for free.

But he declined to say if a cake would cost more, even with compensation measures for low-income earners.

"I do accept the need to speed up my answers," he told ABC Television on Monday night.

Yes I apologise my mistake. I assumed that by having a tangent you had a point. Sadly not the case.

I already made my point, I just don't see the point in flogging it to death when the facts speak for themselves.

Gillard-Gaddafis Chief Scientist resigned in disgust because Gillard is a liar who values noone other than herself...not even those she appoints to scientifically validate, endorse, promote her policies and taxes are dignified with her most gracious presence.

And I'm sure even Rudd would agree with this.

I think we might be hearing more from the scientist however,.... given she seems pretty unhappy about it all.

Rio Tinto cries carbon tax poor mouth
http://au.finance.yahoo.com/news/Carbon ... 64703.html
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has warned frontbencher Malcolm Turnbull to follow the Coalition line on climate change, opposition to an emissions trading scheme and support for the Opposition's "direct action" plan, paid for by budget cuts.

Mr Turnbull lost his leadership of the Liberal Party in 2009 over his support for Labor's CPRS and last week he said he retained his support for an emissions trading scheme.

"Malcolm obviously is a senior member of the shadow cabinet and the view of the shadow cabinet is that we support direct action," Mr Abbott said this morning.

Typical comments by low IQS,
Howard said there will never be a GST, what happened there?
then it took them 2 yrs to work out how to apply it to a chicken sandwich.
Leading upto the last election, when Abbott was asked a question all he could do was immitate Old Joe from Queensland,
Umm, err, well, umm don't you worry bout that, and still he has not been able to answer anything or put a plan forward that the public might want to look at.

Labor forever. :D
