She will go one way or the other...either she will accept a pay-out or cushy position in some retirement lab and never say another thing about it, or she'll gush!

She's already began engaging sceptics and our media, so she's not a happy camper!

Imagine being a vehement activist, supporter of a scientific theory, one you wholeheartedly believed in only to find out you were a mere prop, were there for show...this and really weren't being valued as a scientist at all.

No wonder she resigned half way into her 5 year contract.

Give her time, eventually it will get to her and she will pop, and fair enough, I would too.

Again, it's the principle of the thing, they have made a mockery of her.

My apologies, I looked at the date it was published and assumed it wasn't relevant.

I attended a launch a few weekss ago where Professor Sackett and Senator Carr were both present and both spoke. If I recall, nothing in Professor Sacketts speech gave me the impression she didn't believe the science. She mentioned the challenges of climate change several times.

I'd also suggest that if you look at her CV, shes an astrophysicist with a background in research management. She doesn't seem like the type to formulate her own opinions in areas outside her expertise without quality advice. And I doubt the advice she is getting from CSIRO etc is causing her to doubt the AGW science.

Undermine her credentials as much as you like, it wont help Gillards predicament, given Labor were who saw fit to make her their chief scientific advisor to begin with afterall, no?

8-) The statement was made, end of story... and really, this is not a good look at all, particularly now Gillards trying to introduce a Carbon tax, without having so much as met her own chief scientific advisor.... :D

Ummm wasn't trying to undermine her credentials, just saying being an intelligent woman shes smart enough to know what she doesn't know, so she'd take advice.

Plus when it comes to AGW, Senator Fielding is not the most trusted observer of events. Was it ever confirmed that thats what Prof Sacketts opinion is?

Well, let us just see now, shall we?

It seems, this scientist wants to tell her own side of the story, and fair enough.

8-) ... I think Gillards made another boo boo underestimating this one.

The Citizen’s Climate Tool, an international project to link the best climate impact science to individual citizens in their own homes, is the brainchild of the Office of the Chief Scientist, which remains its international project leader.

Interesting project for a supposed AGW denier.

Why is it that Gillard only calls people on their "statements" she feels she can advantage from?

Believe you me, if this chief scientist had not made this statement, and Gillard herself thought she could have the openly climate sceptic senators comment repealed, make him look like a liar, idiot (((this and attract positive media attention to her desperate blight in the process ))) she would have been all over it like Ricky Nixon at a high school formal.

............... that or Dullards own media hacks have over looked an opportunity to promote their church of climatology?

But I doubt it.

8-) .. It's clear, Gillard would rather leave this one alone!

Mr Speaker, would the Prime Minister like to tell Australian tax-payers why she's promoting a carbon-tax without having met, much less consulted with her chief scientist and climate change advisor who has recently resigned due to feeling her scientific input and government appointment at the tax-payers expense was merely a fast?"
