Re: Wikileaks
No, the WW was historic because it involved most countries in the world gearing themselves almost totally towards the war effort. And you can bet that if something like Wikileaks was about back then, it would have been treated much more harshly by the Allied command than it is today. They wouldn't have tolerated "leakers".

Re: Wikileaks
A prominent US congressman (one of the most vile species on the planet) wants to put Mr. Wikileaks in prison. I think this Aussie is a fucking hero.
Re: Wikileaks
We live in a different world. Had only "loose lips" sunk George W Bush's ship in Iraq ...boxy wrote:No, the WW was historic because it involved most countries in the world gearing themselves almost totally towards the war effort. Re: Wikileaks
what about this latest leak? it's certianly got the global leaders unsettled.
early next year, wikileaks will publish damning documents from one of america's largest banks, detailing the motives and attitudes of executives. Julian has likened it to the enron leaks... and we all know what happened to enron.

Re: Wikileaks
It certainly has. initially i was thinking that this is not a good. I am starting to think that this may end up being a good thing. i pity the poor bastard that did the leaking when the US admijistration hs finished with them. This is like high treason. I think their life will be over unless significant presure is applied from within the US, by the people.what about this latest leak? it's certianly got the global leaders unsettled.
I look forward to that.early next year, wikileaks will publish damning documents from one of america's largest banks, detailing the motives and attitudes of executives. Julian has likened it to the enron leaks... and we all know what happened to enron.
What will happen in the future is nothing will be put in writting. i already choose business situations where i will never put anything in writting. Typically these are statement about someone that is personal. For example is someone asks me with in the company what to you think of Johnny and i think Johnny is crap, i will ring them and speak over the phone and never say they are crap in writting. i recently had a complete made man use the freedom of information act i nthe UK to get every email in the whole company from anyone that had his name in it sent to him. We had to comply. He was seeking a big payout. He was a madman. Completely unwell. Other people got themselves into some great shit howevr i never put anything in writting about him and my email said some nic ethings. So no case to answer from me even though i toll people he was insane.
There will be a new security level or things will be made more secret using high levels of security classifications. To reduce the numbr of people who can see this stuff.

There you go. Just after post the one above i went to the Age and found this in a story.
They are in deep shit. the US normally get their way and their man. I hope Julian has a good place to hide. They are out for him now.
http://www.theage.com.au/world/leaked-c ... 18fbt.htmlUS investigators are exploring the possibility of charging WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and others under the century old Espionage Act, which could see them face decades in jail.
US Attorney-General Eric Holder would not confirm that the Espionage Act was a possible avenue of prosecution, but said:
"To the extent that we can find anybody who was involved in the breaking of American law . . . they will be held responsible. They will be held accountable," Mr Holder said.

There was a snippet a couple of days ago about some documents on the 2007 APEC meeting. The love Howard and Bush had for each other was at its most startling there and even though it didn't get any media attention - Howard signed us up to the GNEC (big boys nuclear club).
Coincidentally - nuclear power for Australia has suddenly been put back on the agenda in the last few days.

One of those seen by AAP offers details of what was going on at the APEC summit in Sydney in 2007.
A cable from Washington DC to the US embassy in Beijing outlines discussions between then president George W Bush and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.
The pair had been talking about the transfer of missile parts from North Korea to Tehran, via Beijing.
"Remind Chinese officials that President Bush has been personally engaged on the issue of the transshipment of ballistic missile parts between North Korea and Iran via Beijing and that he raised this issue with President Hu at APEC," the cable says.
It went on to call for the embassy in Beijing to "seek information on the steps China has taken since the APEC discussion".

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... nalty.htmlWikiLeaks: guilty parties 'should face death penalty'
Leading US political figures have called for the death penalty to be imposed on the person who leaked sensitive documents to whistle-blower website WikiLeaks as anger intensified against those responsible for the international relations crisis.
There you go. They are so predictable. They will set an example of this poor sod.
