Five people dead now, one is about 15km from us. Still no mobile. Water gone but ground is still too wet. Nearly all sky is blue now.
SES was better then last time but the flood was higher too.

Today morning is cold, just as good to slow mozzies breeding.

This is bloody terrifying, if not the fear of more rain, the risk of mosquito born viruses, I'm very concerned about a very elderly relative, great grandmother near Grafton. She's unwell, but is not one to tell anyone she's unwell, doesn't like to make a fuss, you know. We have friends at South West Rocks who are currently locked-in, can't leave , apparently Campsys flooded.

There's a polar super blast coming up from the south, though hopefully it's confined to SA and Vic, you lot don't need anymore rain. Waragamba is at 97% and hopefully will hold untill the next downpour.

I'm concerned about disease outbreak, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.

If I was still living up on the Mid North Coast I'd be well stranded and isolated by now.

Bridge we had

Construction of the bridge commenced early in 1962, but was delayed by more than the usual number of floods in April 1962 that caused work to cease for some days.

The new bridge was completed in December 1963, and the official opening occurred on April 11, 1964.

Made of pre-stressed concrete, the structure is 535 feet long, and collapsible handrails are a great boon in flood-time.
