Lol. India has won it and Australia's effort was more a loss than try to win it.

India beat Australia by 295 runs: first men’s Test, day four – as it happened

India were always going to win today, it was just a matter of how and when. Usman Khawaja went early to Mohammed Siraj to leave Australia in disarray at 17 for 4. Steve Smith scrapped for an hour and a half without hitting a boundary before Siraj had him caught behind just before lunch.

Travis Head decided attack was the best form of defence, hitting a rousing 89 from 101 balls before falling to the inevitable Jasprit Bumrah.

Mitch Marsh (47) and Alex Carey (37) also played nicely but it was an exercise in futilty. The emphatic nature of India’s victory was summed up by the final wicket, a delicious slower ball from Harshit Rana that bowled Carey neck and crop.

Geoff’s report will be on the site later but that’s all for our live coverage of a memorable first Test. See you in Adelaide.

Good cricket by India. Great bowling.
Reckon Australia will lift it's game in Adelaide, but will it be enough against a now confident India?

Dunno - the big one is the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne at the MCG.

The greatest Test match in the world.

No way. SCG sucks. Adelaide is the best cricket oval in stadiums and pitch quality. It's the best and favourite of most Cricketers around the world as it's pitch and ground caters to nearly all facets of the game. WACCA only suits fast bowlers. Gabba the pitch too moist. Sydney mostly for spinners. MCG only for crowd capacity. Hobart is for notching up easy centuries.

I wonder what a Darwin pitch would be like?

Dunno -
I actually find the MCG too large -
the players look like dots in the distance.
I had to use binoculars to see anything.
It's better at home on TV.

You're right about that. That's what I found when I lived there.

Thought so. Apparently there's some division in the Australian side. Smith and Warner again? Trolls
