I think the west is guilty of cowering to the threat of Islam. We are as weak as piss and should recognise this for what it is.
I have no issue with islam. It teaches similar stuff to Christianity however the extremists have won the day. Also note we had our own extremist past when Christian organisations ran our lives. We need to remember we have moved on... they have not yet moved on.

Yes to build bridges with a nation based on it's religion.
Not to build a co-operative venture with a nation. It is to help with US-Muslim relations.
Big difference in my mind.

Islam is an unattractive faith, responsible for keeping its people in poverty pretty much. But 1.4Bn people are of that faith. Better build bridges than make war? Like they said in the 70s “Make love not war”?

Ask any women. There is a big different between "making love" and "sex".
Their style of love is a good royal shafting of the west. The west doesn't feel good after that type of intercourse so we feel unloved.

Look I think Islam really, really sucks, its treatment of its “women” some of which are girls under 10 is appalling, utterly apalling and degrading. I just don’t think we should react by acting as tho they aren’t there.

Your president is in a tough place. I do not know the solution but we do need to try to influence them. i don't think we will have any success until we convince the state (the government of islamic nations) to separate state and religion. Which is what you did in the US, France ....etc. Then all western governments. this was the first major step.

I agree. We should not ignore them as if they are not there. We should engage with them but not take any shite. It is not right that when they feel offended, they seek to kill us. Gee, if i killed eveyone who offended me I would have to kill everyone I ever met. Their existence can offend me
Their treatment of women is terrible and as the father of a little girl... completely offensive to my values. I wonder if we should apply the laws of the Israelites. An eye for an eye and all that stuff. If they do something to us... we should do it back but bigger. You attack us... we wipe you out. Now that might put the scares back on them... where it should belong. Silly idea but just a thought.
It is a serious matter and will take a few generations to resolve I am afraid.
