Some time ago I was wondering why Gladys suddenly imposed a mask mandate on the people of Sydney.
We were also wondering why Andrews was contemplating having Melbourne workers ride their pushbikes
to work....
People in Sydney are currently required to wear a mask on public transport.
Im unaware of the masking mandates for every state in Australia.
However, Workers Compensation laws would now be the reason behind all this.
If someone contracts the virus on a bus or train run by the Government, then the employers
can be sued if there is a monetary loss suffered by the employee who was required to go to work.
THIS is why people are being told to work from home where ever possible.
THIS is not due to public health advice.
ITS merely to protect employers (and the State Governments) from law suits...)
This is why people are being told to mask up on public transport but no need for a mask
if youre walking down the street....
AS Ive said from day 1...this chicanery is all bullshit....
Politicians are using the excuse that its on " expert medical advice" that a restriction occurs....
ITS NOT...
Its simply as a protection against litigation.....
WE are being lied to....
The plot thickens.

Re: The plot thickens.
Maybe they did it because, we are in a pandemic.
Most infections are spread by aerosol. A mask on everyone could be very effective.
Against an unknown virus, try an easy solution. It's probably NOT going to stop a pandemic, it might help, it is very unlikely to harm.

Re: The plot thickens.
You missed the point
We were many many months into the pandemic when Gladys suddenly mandated masks
just before Xmas.
The suggestion that Melbournites ride their bikes to work was also only recently.
Maybe the penny just dropped that litigation could be avoided if everyone wore
a mask on public transport/worked from home/rode a pushbike to work.....
I am not so gullible to believe everything the government tells me.
Sorry....

Yes, I would have thought masks should have been recommended much earlier.
Things are often easier in hindsight.
