We have all heard about the fiasco created by the Qld grubberment....sorry...Jeanette Young, allowing
Tom Hanks to enter Qld etc etc...and stating quite matter of fact... that Qld needs the money....
Well, like many I am pondering the need for Federal and State Government funding through film making initiatives
which are granted to this industry.
Palaszczuk states emphatically that the film will create 900 jobs and inject $105 million into the economy.
Perhaps this is more than a slight exaggeration of the benefits of the film...
BUT what about the funding that the film is being given...
Didnt we read recently that the Federal Government wanted to attract entrepreneurs, etc into Australia
by offering TAX INCENTIVES.....
Personally, I would like to a little more detail regarding the amount of government funding
which goes into these "overseas" escapades within Australia.
Why has Australia suddenly become a "Hollywood" of some sorts...
Its on the other side of the world......
Why would producers, movie stars, directors etc travel all the way to Australia....
UNLESS the grubberment made it worth their while....
More data please........
