I will just be happy when they get enough of those low orbit satellites so I can have home internet. We had it but the demand for bandwidth became so great our less than 1Mbps for $85.00/month was a waste. We became so used to tethering our cell phones during outages for home internet I decided to do it full time until something truly better becomes available. Xfinity tells me I am 1200 feet from their service and it would be too expensive for them to bring it to me.

Re: SpaceX launch
I watched the launch, docking, undocking and landing live. I loved it.
This is really pushing private endeavors into space.
Mars here we come.

Whilst millions of Americans are being thrown on the unemployment scrap heap...
They launch SpaceX....
How many trillions did that cost.....
Whilst the elites pat themselves on the back for another brilliant achievement, yanks
all over the country are wondering where their next big Mac is coming from....
Maybe they can trade some handguns for some burgers....
"Would you like fries with that sir....."
Oh, the irony....

Man your logic is flawed.
If it cost Trillions, which it didn',t the money went into the economy... you know jobs.
Plus the intellectual property and advancement in Rocket Science is huge.
have you seen the reusable rocket land upright like the ThunderBirds. This is a worthwhile venture with private enterprise taking the risk.
it is all good. IMO.

I'm one of those people who has worked at SpaceX, even if it was just for a couple of days as a contractor. Space X is doing what NASA did, but better and for a fraction of the cost. They have leap frogged us right past Russia and everybody else with unmanned and reusable booster rockets. This technology is a game changer in the space race. We could support civilian and military space stations now or space based weapons platforms. I guarantee that everything Space X is doing for NASA, they are doing the same and more for the US Space Force.billy the kid wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 3:06 pmWhilst millions of Americans are being thrown on the unemployment scrap heap...

Only the first sentence and how Space X paid me money and didn't keep it all to themselves without providing a service with public tax dollars.

Re: SpaceX launch
https://www.the-sun.com/news/1944062/sp ... nding-pad/A SPACEX Starship rocket crashed and exploded in a huge fireball on Wednesday after narrowly missing its landing pad.
Dramatic footage shows the unmanned test capsule blowing up as it smashed into the ground having soared to 40,000ft, in its first high-altitude flight.
The $216million rocket is part of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's vision to transport humans to Mars.
Despite the loss of the spacecraft, the flight was considered a major success.
Earlier this week, Musk tweeted that he expected the Starship prototype "SN8" to reach its target flight height and nothing much beyond that.
The rocket launched at SpaceX's development facility in South Texas indeed made the height mark, and also performed a "belly flop" maneuver and got in position for landing.
Pictures and video at link. Tis a shame.
