Who has suggested that prisoners be released?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-20/ ... s/12074182
Left wing morons no doubt.....
I think this will probably go through....our moronic leaders will succumb to these left wing demands....
I read somewhere that the USA is considering releasing everyone with less than 30 days to serve.....

Mayor de Blasio Fighting Coronacrisis By Letting Hundreds Of Criminals Out Of Prison
.............
Source: ZERO HEDGE In the latest example of "outside the box thinking" from America's favorite mayor, Bill de Blasio - whose city is being ravaged by the coronavirus and is slowly becoming the epicenter for the outbreak in the U.S. - decided to release inmates from jail.
Approximately 300 inmates were released from Rikers Island and other city facilities this week in an attempt to, drumroll, stop the virus spread, because apparently confining potential covid carriers in a closed space is more risky than letting them frolic among the general population. Perhaps de Blasio missed the part where prisoners are already in quarantine, even if one gets the virus.
The socialist mayor and failed presidential candidate commented on the non-violent offenders serving yearlong sentences or less that he was releasing: "Some have many months, some have only a few months, some have only weeks, but I’m going to treat this category across the board. We will move to release those 300 inmates immediately."
We wonder if New York resident, forced to live under quaratine indefinitely, will appreciate the latest stroke of brilliance from the NYC mayor who has worked for his entire tenure to de-criminalize... well, crime.
But why stop at 300? The New York Post reports: "The mayor said he is also working with the District Attorneys and New York state to release another 800 inmates. About 700 of those people were jailed on technical parole violations."
The mayor continued: "I am saying across the entire population it is imperative to me that anyone over 70 and anyone who has one of those five pre-existing conditions, should be released as well."
That said, don't accuse de Blasio of not having a backbone: de Blasio is apparently not yet "comfortable" releasing those locked up for domestic violence and sexual offenses. But in a day or two, well, who knows...
Something tells us this idea is going to poll about as well as de Blasio did during the Democratic primaries. On the other hand, maybe once these inmates are released, de Blasio can hire several hundreds city officials to form a taskforce that ensures the criminals use hand sanitizer when they jump subway turnstiles.
Leave it to the left-wing Socialist democ-RATS........put them in charge of the Sahara Desert, & within a week they'll be cryin' about the shortage of sand!!! Assholes

At last the Qld Premier has used some common sense regarding the schools debacle......
"Queensland schools will be pupil-free from Monday but vulnerable children and the kids of essential workers will still be able to attend.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk issued the student-free directive on Thursday, saying it applies to all schools, not just state schools.
Queensland recorded 50 new cases of coronavirus overnight, taking the total to 493.
Saturday's local government elections will proceed as planned, despite the state's rising tally.
Ms Palaszczuk says voting carries the same risk as heading to the grocery store for food, and said people must simply follow advice on social distancing and hygiene.
In announcing the student-free move, the premier said there'd been no change to the health advice that's kept schools open so far.
But she said the change was about striking the right balance, including in relation to community concerns about the schools-open policy.
Vital staff, from healthcare workers to supermarket shelf stockers, can continue to send their kids to class from Monday.
Vulnerable children will also still be able to attend, and arrangements will be made to protect high-risk education workers.
But parents in non-essential jobs should keep their kids home, and make sure they are learning, not "out and about at shopping centres", the premier said.
Teachers will use the student-free days to prepare for mass online and remote learning.
"We are making it very clear that student-free days mean that teachers are going to be at school. The schools are going to be open," Ms Palaszczuk told reporters."
The question needs to be asked....
Why did it take a threatened strike by the Teachers Union to convince the Premier to do something....
Teachers were never consulted about school closures from day one....the boofhead politicians simply
relied on health advice to keep schools open.
Now they are backflipping and giving everyone the choice to send kids to school or keep them
at home....although the highlighted section is a mish mash of contradictions...try to work that out someone....
Political buffoonery at its best........

Apparently the grubberment is taking advice on a national wage subsidy whilst the pandemic exists....
They know that this is going to continue for a long time.....but arent telling us....
Needless to say that a discussion on a wage subsidy like the UK has... wont help employees
in some Gold Coast car dealerships who have been told to work two weeks on and two weeks off....
No pay whilst not working....and all this with a 20% pay cut...if you don't like it...theres the door.....
Who's going to go out and buy a fkn car these days...….
Ill stick to my prediction and reiterate that we will all be in absolute and total lockdown next week......

I think we should all be in lock down and have it enforced by whatever means necessary. Too many idiots are taking absolutely no notice of what we are supposed to be doing now and each state should be forced to act in unison.

They've been quarantined there for a couple of weeks though I think.
