‘Not a single EU country’ responded to Italian plea for help with coronavirus

A top Italian official knocked the European Union for leaving Italy’s plea for medical assistance unanswered while the coronavirus outbreak cripples the country.

Italy’s permanent representative to the EU, Maurizio Massari, wrote an op-ed in Politico on Tuesday asking for aid from EU members. The Italian official said that while the EU has ignored Italy’s requests for aid, China has begun assisting Italy bilaterally.

"Italy, the European country struck hardest by the coronavirus, has done everything it can to contain and manage the epidemic," Massari wrote. "We must ensure, under EU coordination, the supply of the necessary medical equipment and its redistribution among those countries and regions most in need. Today, this means Italy; tomorrow, the need could be elsewhere."

"Italy has already asked to activate the European Union Mechanism of Civil Protection for the supply of medical equipment for individual protection," Massari added. "But, unfortunately, not a single EU country responded to the Commission’s call. Only China responded bilaterally. Certainly, this is not a good sign of European solidarity."

..the Australian F1 GP will be cancelled if one of the crew members (eight have been placed in isolation and tested)
tests positive for covid-19....
SO it all comes down to the results of one test as to whether the GP goes ahead or not....
How fkn unbelievable is that....

Well, it could only happen in Australia....
The NRL has announced the season will go ahead with no fans at the grounds.
The NRL has been on life support for years....crowds have been dwindling...mums and dads
don't want their kids to play...
The NZ Warriors apparently will be relocated to Kingscliff…
Rumours are rife that horseracing, trots, dogs, AFL will be cancelled...
BUT boneheadball will continue....
NRL officials are stating that the option of isolating players and suspending the season remain
on the table if circumstances call for it.
At this stage Round Two next weekend will go ahead...and then a decision will be made....
What will be the catalyst, pray tell....
The NRL even had the audacity to announce they would be approaching Government
for assistance (get to the end of the queue, pricks....) stating that Rugby League keeps Australia together and that an Australia without Rugby League is not Australia...….
Absolute crap....just absolute horseshit wrapped in dogshit.....crap crap crap....
Its just a sport....and a boring, dying sport at that...…
Not enough is being done in Australia to control this virus....
Travel bans from all countries should be put in place and the entire country should be locked down...….

Closing down non essential gatherings over 500 is not good enough....

This is becoming ridiculous...
Depending on where you live in Australia, if you return from overseas, and you don't
self isolate for 14 days, you could be liable for a fine ranging from $8000 up to $50,000
and prison time of anything up to six months....
REALLY...….!!!!!!!!
How in the name of God are they going to enforce this...
When someone leaves the airport and returns to their place of residence, obviously no-one
is going to "call on them" to ensure they are self isolating...
I am inclined to think that most people will do the right thing and self isolate....but for how long....
If someone runs out of food during self isolation, are they permitted to shop for food...for how long....
One hour....two hours...what if the shops are an hours drive away....
Will relatives/neighbours/associates just dob in everyone that they know is not self isolating...
Who is going to arrest the offenders...
Will the Police knock on someones door, knowing that this offender may have the virus..
Will the Police be wearing a mask/gloves/hazmat suit when arresting offenders....
This is our grubberment attempting to wield the big stick instead of shutting the whole joint down...
And then there's the issue of schools..will they close them down...
School holidays start in a few weeks...why not bring them forward and the kids will be at home
for a few weeks anyway....
AND they are now considering restrictions on enclosed events...pubs/clubs/casinos etc....
More policy on the run...shoot from the hip.....maybe this will work...maybe that will work....ffs...

I see....this is the leader of Australia speaking...…
Rather than being proactive.....he is waiting for something to happen....and then he is going

Well, it just gets better and better doesn't it....or worse and worse...depending on your point of view...
The talking heads are now telling us that Scumo is planning to enforce a spacial restriction on clubs and pubs, allowing
only one patron for every four square metres…..
I see...…(picks himself up from the floor after fit of hysterical laughter....)
Therefore, one can only assume that every pub and club manager will now have to consult their floor plans and
make a calculation of just how big their floor space is...…
That's the easy part...if your pub say consists of a single bar and the floor plan tells you that the space is say 20m
by 40m that equates to 800sq m.
That means this pub can have 200 patrons....
No problem there...
That would probably apply to the Royal Hotel at Deniliquin.....
Now comes the hard part...
What about places like the Parramatta Leagues Club, or St George Leagues Club, or Twin Towns
Services Club Tweed Heads.....all multi floored premises...
How, pray tell, are staff going to count everyone at say 6pm on Saturday night, then 7pm, then 8pm....9/10/11....
Etc etc....did I count that old couple over there with the blue dress and blue suit..what about
that bloke over there with the tattoos...did I count him...he just came out of the toilet...
I think I counted him earlier....or did I.....
What about movement in between floors...people heading to the toilets, poker machines, TAB facilities,
snooker rooms, dining rooms....
How do staff count these people and then calculate...oops...we've got too many people...
Who then is ejected...and how...
Are dining rooms, toilets, snooker rooms classified as within the licensed premises...
What about taverns in Canberra, where children are segregated away from drinkers but still
within the licensed premises...
Even at the Royal Hotel, Deniliquin, 200 drinkers in that space is a hell of a lot of people
in a confined space....what do they do...just walk out onto the footpath and have a fag and
continue drinking outside...…
This is the latest from our leader.....Scott Morrison....(you know...the guy that waits for
something to happen....then acts.....)
This is just a lame brained exercise to keep the economy going and people in jobs.....
People will just buy a carton of beer and a bottle of wine, maybe a pizza and go back home....
And employees/bar staff etc will be laid off anyway, because the peasants are all at home......
