There was one mosque in Sydney which was greatly opposed a few years ago by the people and consequently rejected by Council. The muzzos took it to the Land and Environment Court who promptly overturned Council's decision and allowed it to go ahead. The people were furious as it was not in keeping with the area and no muzzos lived there anyway. They just wanted to spread their tentacles though.

Residents were furious and the building was 'vandalised' nightly and strewn with pig's blood and pig's heads on stakes etc all donated by the local butcher shops.

It didn't stop them though and they didn't seem to care. It was finished and looks like a compound/fortress. Ugly as hell and definitely not in keeping with the 5 acre lots with beautiful houses surrounding it.

I read recently that a THIRD mosque is going up in the same area. Great area and now totally ruined.
