In theory, yes it is. However, in reality it is just as riven by factions and personalities as any political groups, just like the Tories at the moment. Funny that, hey? The Chinese Communist Party is just like the Tories Party.
As to them actually being a Communist Party, they are in name only. You may have forgotten Deng Xiaoping? You know the bloke who took over after the Gang of Four tried to, after the death of Mao Zedong? Well, he once declared, in that wonderfully inscrutable Chinese way, that, "what does it matter if the cat is black or white? It still catches mice!" He changed China from being a Communist authoritarian state to just an authoritarian state - a nation where economic freedom is allowed by political freedom is still curtailed. Guess what the Chinese people took to, like ducks to water? Capitalism with a big capital "C". Today, money rules in China, rather as money rules everywhere else. If you're sick, don't bother going to a Chinese hospital unless you can afford to pay for the treatment, up front.
Brian would fit in very well but the long shorts, socks and sandals wouldn't go down well.
Boring ad hominem, Neferti. Really, you should try harder. Now, little girl, run along back to your little kiddies' playground where you're allowed to play in the mud, all day long.
