Simply comparing minimum wages from country to country is incredibly flawed. It also varies state to state in the US but let's make it simple and say their minimum wage is $10.29 AUD. Quoting it in USD is misleading.
15-20% tipping is mandatory in the USA which you don't take into account. So add on 15-20%.
Maximum income tax rate in Australia is 47% whereas it is 37% in the US. The U.S. currently has seven federal income tax brackets, with rates of 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%. We also have to pay a Medicare levy so add another 2% to ours.
Cost of living in the majority of the US is far cheaper than in Australia (unless you live in New York, Boston or LA).
Food is far far cheaper there than here. Housing is ridiculously much cheaper in the US than it is here.
Their infrastructure is better and most people live in 'rural' areas where the cost of living is not only cheap but everything you could want is only 10 minutes away. You can get a pizza or general takeaway delivered to your door almost no matter where you live.
This is what is inherently wrong with you lefties. You are too simple and think with your asses in your desperation for a rise in your dole payments.
Simple is as simple does and to blindly follow a simpleton like Shorten (who is apparently the best you have got) says it all. With that simpleton Daley (running in NSW) a close second. At least the righties criticised what they knew was NEVER right ... Turnbull.
