"Stopping" means movement is arrested, Cods. It does not equate to "preventing". The UN stopped the Balkans war, which was underway. You really do have a poor understanding of English. Is it your second language?cods wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 9:17 ambri bri's version of history is totally different to everyone elses....amazing that...rhino wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 12:45 amSrebrenica massacre: Dutch soldiers let 300 Muslims die, court rules

he basically claims CHristians have not learnt a thing over the centuries....we are still as bad as in the dark ages....
that way he can be a bleeding heart and turn a blind eye to what is happening TODAY...
the UN Stopped the Balkans WAR...
Why is it "stupid", Cods? The UN has provided peace-keeping forces for numerous conflicts - most successful. Why? 'Cause the participants didn't want hostilities to continue. Where they failed, they had either inadequate forces to stop the conflict breaking out again or the participants weren't interested in stopping and restarted the conflict. Rwanda is a fine example of that. You know, where Christians committed Genocide on one another because of tribal differences?
In part I agree with you but the UN was set up to be a "toothless tiger" in 1945. It is what it's member states have made it, including Australia, Cods. When it has had strong leadership, it has done well. When it has had weak leadership, when faced with Superpower rivalry, it has done badly. Overall, it's performance has been adequate. It has not military forces of it's own, it has no means of deploying military force. It was originally set up as a diplomatic talking shop. It's real power resides in the Security Council where the big five - the USA, Russia, the PRC, the UK and France all have veto power (in otherwords they can render any resolution null and void). Guess which country has used it's veto the most since 1945? The USA. Funny that, hey?The UN is a very very expensive toothless tiger.....that people like you who make up your own history keep pompuss ineffective pratts in a job....
Bet you can't either, Cods, can you?I bet you couldn t name any of them without google.....
I am a realist. I also know how to use the quote function. You might want to learn it.your a fool... they rely on people like you to keep them in business.
Nope. I never resort to name calling, Cods. Nor am I a "forum NAZI". I do use put downs. However only after someone has insulted me first. Just as you have now. You simply refuse to read and learn. I have many years study is this area, Cods. What do you have? Any qualifications at all? I wrote my honours thesis on Australian foreign policy and the UN. I know what I am talking about. You appear to be, well, I suppose I could resort to name calling but hey, what's the point? We all know what you are.
I think you mean "YOU'RE" not "YOUR", Cods. Run along dear. I get your message anyway. You dislike someone who is more knowledgeable than you and who can argue their case. Tut, tut.I stand by my words YOUR A FOOL.. who cannot see past his own reflection...
Perhaps "success" means sexual violence and the raping of children in Bri bri's magical kingdom?brian ross wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:15 amThe UN has provided peace-keeping forces for numerous conflicts - most successful. Why?
Bri Bri also thinks irony is an adjective used for describing an iron.brian ross wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:58 amwho is more knowledgeable than you and who can argue their case.

Australia possesses no "Nukes".
Australia pays for the help that Indonesia furnishes in the matter of people smuggling and Islamist Terrorism.
Bali furnishes an outlet for Australia's population to experience a different culture (two actually) and provides the Indonesians a way to earn Australian dollars.
