Re: 2017 - Domestic Violence
I've been thinking a bit recently about emotional vs physical violence.Neferti~ wrote:Females use WORDS, males use STRENGTH. Obviously, in any marriage/partnership, people get annoyed with each other.
Getting "verbal" is one thing, getting "physical" is another. How can you consider/compare "verbal abuse" as bad as "physical abuse"?
Female calls man a "nasty word", man hits woman with his fist .... IF you are in that sort of relationship, it is probably best to leave NOW before somebody kills somebody!
A bully has emerged at my daughters school and she's being victimising one girl just horribly. She's a very popular and a politically savy girl who acts as sweet as pie when she needs to but has been a little psyco to her victim.
The bully is a pint sized little runt.
Her victim is a bit tubby, but fit and physically capable and her whole family does martial arts.
To a few select parents whom I can speak candidly two, I said if it was my daughter who was the victim, after steps A,B,C,D,E have been tried to stop it, I'd tell her to use her tae kwon do skills and smash her in the face.
Some parents were horrified and others agreed. We discussed it for a bit and nearly all of the parents came around to the fact that one quick smack in the gob is nothing compared to months of emotional torture.
Opinions?

A jab is good for a male to give.
Short sharp. Don't need force with it, surprise them with the speed.
I used to do karate and boxing .
I did a back hand slap to a guy so fast he did not see it coming or returning.
He had been giving me cheek for far too long.
No real pain to him, a very good warning to his incessant lip to me.
Noone else there, so no public humiliation
He was nice after that.
For a female to deliver, I suggest a palm heel strike.
Less chance of damaging your knuckles/wrist.
Do it on the sly, leave no marks, say nothing.
She'll know what is meant

Emotional abuse is a lot more than just yelling at someone and calling them names. It's habitual put downs, insults, humiliation, shaming, blaming and criticism aimed at taking away a person's confidence in an attempt to groom and control. The perpetrator merely uses emotions as a weapon rather than the physical.
Most physical abusers also use emotional abuse in their quest to control but not all emotional abusers use the physical.
I don't believe physical violence is a means to settle anything unless in defence but, if all else fails, she should challenge this other girl to a one on one and whoop her ass!

She might win.
Surprise her with a one on none
What is your daughter like at jabs?
You can pick your moment, it'll take a second.
Get your feet right, find your balance, throw it out, pull it back. Give it a bit of hip and torso flick and it is a knockout punch.

Nothing wrong with a slap, as long as its followed by a bit of tickle
