The very best way to see what thrives in your area is to check out the neighbours' properties and copy what you like (and what thrive) from them.

I have generous neighbours who welcomed me with some hardy succulents. The purple flower looking one in the whisky barrel was gifted to me only a few weeks ago. I was chuffed.

I love anything that smells nice.

Going to nursery today, might get some violets if they have some.

Hi Mellie...

Liriope will grow pretty much anywhere.....

For winter color, stay clear of pansies.........your friendly possum will devour them.
