yes it could Nef I agree, it will be interesting to see.
I'm betting the major parties will not learn a lesson from it if it is.

Politicians actually think they are important. Turnbull needs to be TOLD he is an "unelected" PM.Rorschach wrote:yes it could Nef I agree, it will be interesting to see.

OK, so Abbott wasn't the best PM we have ever had but I think he is a LOYAL person and a gentleman. He was treated like shit by Turnbull, Bishop, Morrison and Co.
I know the argument (from the Left, usually) is that we do NOT vote for the Prime Minister .... however, the person heading the Party is the person the average Aussie "knows" ... Joe Blow their Local MP is a nobody, most wouldn't even know his/her name.

You are right and Abbott was doing a shit job and he let his loyalties etc get in the way of doing a good job.

Abbott would have come good eventually as Julia Gillard was coming good before Rudd replaced her. PM's need a little time to learn their job. Turnbull is being very smart having such an early election when the electorate are so disillusioned. If he had left it another 6 months - Shorten would probably get in.

Technically its not an early election at all. It is due between June and September

So happy I didn't waste my time re-enrolling, so I don't have to do an abusive graffiti informal. Think I might do something constructive, like collect firewood or catch a pig.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Even "strangers" I meet are saying that they won't be voting for Shorten or Turnbull .... and they aren't interested in the Greens either.
I was talking to a lady today who mentioned "the Election" and I was a little wary as Canberra is a Labor Town. Turns out that she won't be voting Liberal, as she has always done, this year, because of Turnbull and the "stabbing of Abbott's back" ......
Not that it really matters in Canberra.
We agreed that Zed Seselja was a good guy.

I think a lot of people will be casting informal votes.
That said I still can't see the coalition losing.
If Labor had a half decent leader the government would be in trouble, but honestly Shorten wouldn't excite his own grandmother.
I don't believe the polls, I think Labor will gain seats but they need too many to win, at best they might force a hung parliament.

Apart from the rude and irrational comments aimed at Bill I think he is doing a better job than Malcolm at putting the message out there.
Might be closer than you think.
Malcolm cant say in 3 words what he can say in 50.
