Broadbeach businessman escapes fine and conviction despite filming up three women’s skirts
A PERVERT boss who used a phone to film up the skirts of his staff member and two other women has walked from court without a fine or a conviction.
Mario Gonfaloniere was labelled a “revolting, disgusting, perverted old pig” by one of his victims who said he should have received a more severe punishment.
Magistrate Kerry Magee sentenced wealthy Gonfaloniere to two years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to videoing up the three women’s skirts — two at Jupiters Casino on Melbourne Cup Day last year and his employee of more than nine years, five times between late October to early November.
Magistrate Magee said Joanne Johnson’s case was the most serious of the charges.
Southport Magistrates Court was told Gonfaloniere set up his iPhone in his office at Wavecrest Homes, Acacia Ridge, several times before instructing Ms Johnson to come in to sit at a chair or perform tasks. One video was 10 minutes long and police also found screen shots from paused videos.
“That is far and away the most serious (charge) because there was a certain level of premeditation involved in the recording, the positioning of the recording device on the floor, then instructing your employee to conduct a task that involved her standing over the recording,” Ms Magee said.
“My concern is the significant violation of trust. (The other cases) might be seen as opportunistic as opposed to having significant organised and premeditated involvement in recording of an employee.”
