Abbott must have had some serious anger management issues when he was younger. Being a boxer and a seminarian might have helped him relieve his frustration and learn some patience. If he had punched the reporter in the face, he may not have won the election. Pity.

You, mantra, obviously, have NO IDEA, why some teenagers who are MALE (like Tony Abbott) would want to become a Catholic Priest. It has nothing to do with access to choir boys, just in case your filthy mind goes in that direction. Some people, in their teens, actually WANT to HELP PEOPLE. I seriously thought of being a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church at 16. I was very involved with The Church at that age.

At 14ish, I seriously studied and hung out at the local Library ... reading and reading about "religion", particularly Buddhism. Around that time I was also a Girl Guide, so I also thought about volunteering to go aid the little African kids, et cetera.

I have catholic friends and rellies ..... mostly they are of the "indoctrinated as kids" variety. Not the "I wanna help people" variety, like I was. Both are rather a waste but, some people want to save PEOPLE and others ONLY want to save the Moggies.

You would have been totally unsuitable as a Deacon - so at least you had your wits about you back then.
