I am not sure how many murders we have, annually, in Australia or which State is more prone to it. Most, I imagine (without checking the stats) are "Homicides at Home" ... However. every so often the MSM gets themselves involved, more than normal.

Very sad for the families and friends but ...... why does the MSM choose some murders over others to report non-stop?

Allison Baden-Clay was a former Miss Queensland and Jill Meagher worked on ABC radio. It seems that celebrity, in any form, gets the publicity.

That Websleuths site http://www.websleuths.com/forums/ can be interesting. I am not a member but there are lots of Aussies on there I found the site after watching something on the Discovery channel about some missing person and wondered what had happened so Googled the name and came across the site. There have been quite a few missing young females in the last year ... gone all quiet in the MSM but the families are still wondering and some do post on that site. Sad that unless the missing person is a "celeb" or very pretty they get little interest in the MSM.

Trust me, up close trauma caused by gunshot or knife is plenty gruesome. What's a better indication of how violent the attack was would be things like the number of times the victim was shot/stabbed, lack of defensive wounds indicating a sudden surprose attack or execution, plenty of defensive woulds on the victim and perpetrator could indicate how long/hard the victim struggling against their attacker/s, ligiture/rope/tape marks indicating the victim was rendered helpless prior to them being killed, ect.

That was a shocking murder. The poor woman must have suffered terribly before she was thrown over the balcony. Apparently she had some indication earlier that he was violent. She should have run at the time and not looked back.

Control Freak! He had cameras throughout the apartment. His defence is that she suicided. That Websleuth's site has discussion by Aussies about it. Strangely, he has a Judge Only ... no Jury. The Judge will make a decision in a couple of weeks, apparently.
