Nah, guess not. You're American. Almost as bad as those Islamofascists, when it comes to a lack of perspective.
Boxy, I see your way of thinking, even if you don't believe I do or that I can.

It's just that the destruction of the Towers and the Pentagon and the crashing of that other plane into a field in Pennsylvania were blacker than even the blackest of humor allows.

What can you think is even remotely funny about any of those events that day?

And sure, it was televised, and that might not make it worse than other tragedies, but it brings it into our livingrooms in a way that could not happen in earlier decades.

World wars were broadcast on radio in the first half of the twentieth century, and hearing about what was happening, hearing the voice of the President, were poignant experiences for millions.

It's probably true that more people were killed in the Wars, more people killed in the Spanish Inquisiton of centuries earlier, more killed in the Crusades of an even earlier era. And the only people who knew about those events were the ones being murdered, since there was no radio or television in those times.

But you're just trying to rationalize, Boxy. And NO, we are not "almost as bad as those Islamists when it comes to lack of perpective." What kind of a statement is that?

From what I understand, your country is crawling with muslims even now as we speak. So is the UK. And they are rapidly growing in numbers and starting to demand certain rights and privileges, they want separate sharia law to govern themselves, instead of the law of the land.

While they make use of "radical militant islamist" terror attacks to shock and distract the masses - knowing the media will make a big deal out of every incident - the mainstream "moderate" muslims are quietly moving into all the westernized countries and settling in to have large families, to worship at community mosques, where imams will be teaching the quran and the hadiths to their children.

And you can very easily see where that is leading: toward the Islamisation of the West, the spread of Political Islam into all the countries of the West, with the intent to replace democracy with sharia law.

Look out ..

That's why religion and the state should be mandated to be separate by the UN going forward.

Well, they'd better hurry up about it, get a move on right away. Don't you think so, Nova?

I would love to see that motion go to the UN.

One day it will. The problem is that sovereign states can have any constitution the people 9or the ruling class) desires. there should be a world baseline for all constitutions or a set like the human rights bills that mandates these minimums on all states. However the UN is flawed in that it is the representatives of these states and they have different ideologies.

We need to be one world with a world government. Countries became states of the world union, until then.....

The problem with the rest of the world.... is they need to catch up with the lessons of the west and that takes time. We will have to have another world war to make the next major change.

In your opinion it is in poor taste. As Americans we both have the right to free speech, though we oddly seem to lack a right to not be offended. If the topic offends you then I offer a modified form of the same advice I give to those who get offended by certain TV shows...

Go read a different topic and let though of us who can take a joke to our merriment.

How about the fact that a small group of total fucknuts thought that they could actually get into heaven by killing thousands of innocent people? That level of idiocy is without parallel. How about the nation who terrorised Japan into submission with nuclear weapons acting all butthurt, for over a decade, because a few thousand of their own were killed?

Funny shit.
