Fingers crossed! I presume that our ABC will be broadcasting it as usual?

If the Coalition win there will be a lot of sad looking ABC commentators.
Kerry O'Brien, Barrie Cassidy, Maxine McKew, Tony Jones,etc... not to mention nearly everyone on Channel 10s The Project.

I thought Red Kerry had retired? Looks like they dragged him out for the event. Kerry leans so far to the left it is a wonder he can sit upright in his chair. McKew is also a has been. I hope to see a few of them shed tears and really want to see Kevvi curse, jump up and down and blubber.

Well I have now done my bit and voted today. You don't need an excuse this year as early voting is open to everyone. Apparently it's a trial. A trial they don't seem to have told anyone about. Normally if you trial something you let people know.
The Senate ballot paper was way too big and hard to manage if you want to vote below the line.
Liberal Democrats are A and Liberal/Nationals are way along the paper at Y. The guy informed me that many errors had been made thus far and explained it to me before he handed me the ballot paper. Silly setup.
I usually watch them mark me off the roll just to make sure they mark off the right name. This time it was done on a laptop, which is fine, but if they mark you off electronically without you being able to see what they are doing they should give you a receipt to prove you have voted, just to cover you in case of error.

I voted last week! The ACT has had pre-polling for ages, I half expected computer voting like they did for the ACT Election but the person marking off names said that would be too hard for a Federal Election.Black Orchid wrote:Well I have now done my bit and voted today. It is none of the AEC's business why you want to vote early. The first time I did it I had an excuse prepared but they didn't ask so I didn't tell.

The AEC site has stuff on their site IF you want to vote in the Senate "below the line" .... I always vote 1 Liberal in the Senate. The Senate ballot paper was way too big and hard to manage if you want to vote below the line.

Again, the dimwit on the desk couldn't find my name! It was hard copy too ... figured he didn't know his alphabet .... I showed him and saw him cross me off.I usually watch them mark me off the roll just to make sure they mark off the right name. Another duty done ... now the wait for the result.Critique over

Good idea. Skip said he often work at voting booths. I could just imagine him scamming a heap of names by not marking them off, then putting in a call to his dodgy Green fuckwit mates to come down and give the Greens or ALP a few extra votes at someone else's expense.I usually watch them mark me off the roll just to make sure they mark off the right name. Re: Election 2013
I've often wondered why they issue pencils, all it would need would be "somebody" to smuggle an eraser in and change the votes to "Green" for example. Does anyone know why a pencil? Tradition? They wouldn't have supplied pen and ink when Australia first went to the Polls. Biros came much later. What happens if you use a biro? Just curious.IQS.RLOW wrote:

Pencils are cheaper than supplying pens.
Pens run out of ink.
Can't sharpen a pen.
