Hard to know when you have someone on ignore but I'm guessing he failed to provide anything to back up his earlier gobbledygook.

Ross Gittins is not someone I'd be going to for unbiased economic advice. I suppose in a broad sense he is an economist, even if he's basically a journo who was an accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree. That's a BCom as opposed to a BEc.

Monk is obviously not able to back himself up his RBA link does not back his rant up. Perhaps Gittins has on some aspects of the economy but it is pretty clear Monk is clueless about what Gittins and the RBA have said. Many economists disagree with his claim re debt being a good thing now, as for the rest of his rant... :du

Being a Lefty I like Gittins but do not always agree with him, I also like Terry McCrann, but 100% agreement? No way. As commentators they present between them, a pretty good view of government decisions and their effects on our economy. That's why I read both. Henry Ergas, Bernie Fraser, James Wolfensohn, Ross Greenwood and even Ken Henry are worth a listen to as is reading the Australian Financial Review among others.

But I'd not put any faith in anyone who lies about policy and screams the same crap over and over again without really understanding what he's on about, and not caring that he's lying.

Mitchell is a socialist and like you, completely wrong.

Not that it matters. You and your bullshit wastefulness will be fucked off for good come September. You've never been right on anything to date and never will be.

Now if we could only round you up after the election and put bullets in your thick skulls, Australia would be 200% in front after the election instead of just 100%

He is an economist.

If we get PM Abbott we will get austerity and a recession.

Kevin Rudd stated that a recession was inevitable back in 2009.

It is Howard did the wasteful spending.

I have to laugh seeing silly Lib fanbois talk about all these surpluses Howard had.

Pointless surpluses, all spent in the next year on tax cuts and pork.

Reckless spending by Howard & Costello, as the borrow-spend boom took off, fed that boom, making the private sector indebtedness ever higher. Came the GFC, the end of annual big increases in property prices, no more credit could be raised as a result. The huge mortgages and credit card bills have to be paid off. The savings rate has climbed back to 10%, a historical norm.

At the same time as Howard and Costello were squandering the boom revenue they neglected infrastructure and sucked money out of road building, education and health. No wonder we have a skills crisis, eh?

Did we have a recession in 2009? Are you sane?

I have a feeling todays Heil Hitler AS policy launch by Scoot & Piss&Moan is going to backfire on the Libs. Some thinking of voting Lib but not sure of Abbott might be put off voting Lib. Some may change to the Greens and so to Labor via preferences.

WTF were they thinking? They going to have a Kristallnacht and a book burning?

:rofl :rofl :rofl
A backfire would be dismantling a working policy and getting 50000 illegal immigrants who confirmed to the voters that the ALP had no fucking idea what it was doing

You could see this one coming, (albeit Monks a little late) whereby a Labor government has now regressed to blaming a former Coalition government for their failures.

Odd, that this should only surface in an election year.... Labor have had 6 years to blame the Coalition, they must be quite desperate now.

Howard was right on the mark re-Rudd being a chameleon and a blame shifter....

When will Kevin Rudd man up and take responsibility for his own governments failings?

Ah that would be a never... he'll blame his government and other members of it... but take responsibility or blame... NEVER!!!
