Nope. All my serious posts have said that a surplus is the wrong policy for now. When a surplus was called for—Howard & Costello spent all the surplus from the previous year in the next, feeding the borrow-to-spend boom. Now deficits are called for—idiot Abbott & Co are calling for a surplus, for austerity.

Fortunately, it is unlikely they will be able to carry out their “policies.” Fortunately—the NBN will keep being rolled out. The single biggest and most effective investment in Australia’s future! (Phew, back On Topic!)
