Labor are scared of Mal Brough

Post by IQS.RLOW » Thu Jun 13, 2013 12:49 am

It seem that Mal scares the ALP for some reason. They have had him as a target for a long time. I am wondering what are they so scared of?

Are they frightened of an effective politician?

Yep.
They've seen him as a Leadership proposition from the start and a formidable force to be reckoned with if he became leader.

No, they're scared of the electorate, Brough's just a current target for their 'poor bugga me, I'm so offended' victimhood campaign.

When these high horse hypocrits cry foul and say "I'm offended" by whatever the current sledging/slagging, I say "Good, the self righteous aren't happy unless they've got something to complain about". So they should be gratefull for an excuse to vent their petty judgementalism.

Personally, I thought the offending line/sentence phuk all .. as in no big deal .. and making a big issue of/about it demonstates any irrelavant topic or subject will be used as a distraction from the reality Australian government today. Incompetent and desperate near to the point of despotism.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard blasts menu slur as 'lack of respect' by Coalition

TONY Abbott has asked people to "move on" after a restaurant owner owned up to being the author of a bad-taste menu carrying a highly-offensive description of the Prime Minister.

Mr Abbott said he understood that people would find “tacky, tasteless comments” offensive, but it was important to get the facts straight on this case.

It emerged yesterday a menu linked to a Liberal Party fundraiser in part claimed to offer: "Julia Gillard Kentucky fried quail- small breasts, huge thighs". It then makes a third, cruder reference.

“It wasn’t seen by anyone at the event,” Mr Abbott said.

“It was never distributed to people at the event.

“It was a tacky joke that never made it out of the kitchen.

“I think now that we know the facts everyone can all move on.”

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has blasted the Liberals for being 'sexist'. Nothing new in that.

Government ministers have questioned restaurateur Joe Richards confession that he drafted the offensive menu, with Finance Minister Penny Wong saying it was “odd and convenient” that he was taking the fall. Why Penny?

"You would have to wonder how it is that this explanation has only now come to light," Senator Wong told the Seven Network. Ah because the menu just came to light perhaps.

"It seems a little odd and convenient, this explanation." sorry... nope

Health Minister Tanya Plibersek questioned why Mr Richard’s confession was distributed by Mr Abbott’s office.

She said the explanation should be taken “with a grain of salt as an after-the-fact justification”. but she is a loon...

But Mr Abbott said it was perfectly appropriate that his office distribute Mr Richards’s letter.

“The restaurant-owner, funnily enough, doesn’t actually have a media staff,” he said.

Treasurer Wayne Swan says it is "almost inconceivable" that people attending the fundraiser did not see the menu. Almost eh wayne?

“This is a vile act by those that were at the lunch,” Mr Swan said today. No wayne, that is slander by you.

“The stories that have been told by various participants simply don’t add up. what stories? They all add up so far.

“To my way of thinking, it’s almost inconceivable that this menu was not sighted by participants at the lunch and I don’t think we’ve heard a convincing case from any of the participants that it wasn’t seen by people.” Sorry, but I find it totally believable.

He said he stood by his demands that Mal Brough be sacked as a candidate over the issue. :du

Mr Abbott condemned as "tacky" the menu for a Brisbane fundraiser in March for former Howard government minister Mal Brough, attended by about 20 people, including shadow treasurer Joe Hockey.

Mr Brough apologised and Mr Hockey said he did not recall seeing the "offensive and inappropriate" menu.

The Opposition released an email from the alleged author of the menu Mr Richards, a businessman and owner of the restaurant which hosted the March 28 dinner.

He allegedly told Mr Brough's office by email that he had created the mock menu as "a joke, never for public distribution".

He went on to write: "Unfortunately a staff member saw the mock menu, and unbeknown to me posted it on Facebook."

But a chef who leaked the menu says he's sure it would have been seen by those in attendance, 3AW radio reports. but doesn't know if it actually was.

Dave Carter is a former employee of the venue and says he saw the menu posted on the owner's Facebook page.

The owner has apologised and says the menu never hit the tables and was never seen by the public but Mr Carter doubts that.

"I have very little doubt that Joe would have shown everyone there. Normally at these functions there is some kind of a joke, some kind of a gag and Joe Richards is the type of person that makes sure everyone sees it and everyone knows about it." yawn... so sharing a bad joke to 20-30 people is criminal?

Ms Gillard earlier said Mr Brough would be a senior minister in an Abbott government, and she demanded he be disendorsed. SHUT-UP JULIA...

"This is Tony Abbott's Liberals, this is what they're like and I think the real risk for Australia is if Mr Abbott was ever Prime Minister it wouldn't be a question of what's on fundraising menus, we would see this lack of respect for women littered through all of his government policy documents," the PM said. What a crock of lies.

Ms Gillard said the menu was the latest episode in a pattern of behaviour as shown by Mr Abbott standing next to sexist signs about her, and a Young Liberal function where jokes were cracked about the death of her father. More lies.

But Mr Abbott said he would "absolutely not" dump Mr Brough.

He said it was ridiculous to suggest Mr Brough should resign over something he did not condone, authorise or write.

In his condemnation of the menu, Mr Abbott also had a crack at Labor events where offensive jokes were made about his female chief of staff. how soon we forget eh Progs...

"Whether it is a tacky scatological menu out the front of a Liberal Party event, whether it is squalid jokes told at union conference dinners with ministers present. Whatever it is, I think we should be better than that. I think we should be appealing to every Australian's best self as we go into this election," he said.

Kevin Rudd blasted the menu as a "snide, dirty, sexist trick". Go kevvy :du

The menu row came after Ms Gillard reignited the gender wars, claiming that under Mr Abbott women would be banished from the centre of political life and abortion would become a men's "political plaything".

Former Victorian Labor premier Joan Kirner praised Ms Gillard's words, and said the PM needed to continue the push for a debate on "equality, respect and inclusion" for women.

Like I said, I don't consider it a big deal or even note worthy issue.

Yeah yeah so Julia's got a big red box .. I'd expect the rug to match the curtains anyway.

Labor is so bereft of any compassion or policies that are funded and can't explain themselves out of the HUGE Budget Deficit that they have a need to pick on anything, however minor, to try to denigrate Tony Abbott and the Opposition.

Pathetic doesn't describe Gillard and her Government. All she has achieved is to set Australian Women who want to achieve something in Politics, back 25 years!

The Leftard Media has made this even worse. Now Australia is the butt of jokes in the UK and elsewhere. They still refer to us as Colonials. Gillard is not a Boadicea ... she could become Australia's worst PM ...... a handle held by Whitlam for 40 years. Well done Jules

I saw the interview with the cretin who posted the menu on Facebook. He'd been sacked from the restaurant 6 months before the event and had no idea if anyone had seen it.

He also said that similar menus had been drawn up in the past (as a joke by the owner) at Labor Party functions and admitted to past derogatory tweets by himself about Abbott.
THE Brisbane chef who claimed a menu demeaning Julia Gillard was used at an LNP fundraiser admits to making highly offensive tweets about Tony Abbott.

David Carter also revealed he was sacked months before the March 28 function and he had no evidence the menu was seen by guests, including Liberal National Party candidate Mal Brough or shadow treasurer Joe Hockey.

Mr Carter conceded today that he did not like Mr Abbott and had made derogatory references to him in tweets earlier this year.

The tweets, seen by The Australian, refer to Mr Abbott, pit bull terriers, rape and AIDS.

Mr Carter defended the tweets, saying he was not a public figure running for office.

Grubby looking thing he is and I wouldn't want him cooking my food :b
Ms Gillard yesterday labelled the menu as being part of a “pattern of behaviour” by Mr Abbott and that there was a “great deal of convenience” in Mr Hockey denying he saw the menu.
Mr Carter, who got a copy of the menu from a friend's Facebook page, admitted he was sacked by Mr Richards last October.

He said Mr Richards had previously mocked up such menus, including for Labor Party functions.
What a crock of BLEEP! Let's hope the restaurant owner still has copies of the menus he has done in the past for the Labor Party functions.

IMO the efforts by Labor to criminalise free speach based and personal opinion in the work place and then endevour to implement red Chinese style media censorship has made them a legitimate target for lowbrow jokes ... which they claim are just light hearted banter while indulging in the practice when targeting Libs, Nats, Pauline Hanson, ect ect, but becomes disgusting and offensive when the joke's on them.

Labor complaining about such things seems to be the epitome of hypocrisy.
